Background / History

Biyao is the daughter of Wanren Wang, the Ghost King Sect's Sect Master, and Xiao Chi. After Xiao Chi's death, Biyao became estranged from her father; Youji raised and protected her through her childhood. 502

She first encountered Qing Mo at a restaurant in the Jade Dynasty World. Initially playful and self-assured, she became alarmed when Qing Mo restrained both her and Youji. To protect Youji, Biyao offered to go with Qing Mo in exchange for Youji's safety. 501 502

Qing Mo used Rhinoceros Horn Incense to let Biyao meet Xiao Chi's ghost, allowing mother and daughter to speak again. He later gave Biyao a Soul-Nourishing Jade containing Xiao Chi's spirit and ultimately reconstructed Xiao Chi's body, reuniting Biyao with both of her parents. 502 503 506

Zhou Yixian revealed that Biyao's original fate had been to sacrifice herself through a forbidden art. Qing Mo's intervention changed that fate, setting her on a path beyond her former world. 508

Though often presented as innocent and cheerful, Biyao is capable of calculated deception. At Morning Sky Academy, she manipulated Gong Xiaoran's infatuation to turn him into a pawn against Luo Cheng, then convincingly performed grief after Gong Xiaoran's death. 527 531 536
