Background / History

Flow is an Advanced-rank Water God Style technique. Practitioners at this rank can consciously use battle aura and learn Flow. 8

It was developed after the Sword God Style's Light Blade had become nearly unbeatable in direct exchanges—even Sword Saints had defeated Water King-class Water God Style swordsmen with it. Water God Style masters created Flow specifically to evade the attack rather than block it. 16

Dolin Prodia Greyrat initially attempted to use Flow against Ghislaine Dedoldia's Light Blade, but the difference in their ability was too great; he was struck before he could respond. 16 He later used an air field to slow Eris Boreas Greyrat's Light Blade enough to react, then used Flow to knock her wooden sword off its original trajectory. 36

Light Blade Deflection

Flow follows the momentum of an incoming strike and redirects its trajectory, allowing its user to evade an attack that cannot be blocked directly. 16

• Specifically designed as a countermeasure to the Sword God Style's Light Blade. 16
• Redirects the opponent's weapon rather than stopping its force head-on. 16
• Depends on the user's ability to perceive and react before the strike lands; Dolin could not employ it successfully against Ghislaine until he slowed the attack with an air field. 16 36
• Can create an opening for an immediate counterattack, as Dolin combined it with Void Flash after diverting Eris's sword. 36
