Background

Rudeus was reincarnated into a world of magic as the son of Paul and Zenith Greyrat. By age one, he understood the local language; Lilia taught him to read, allowing him to independently study his new world. Seeing Zenith heal an injury with magic dispelled his initial disbelief in its existence 2 3.

His talent emerged early. Roxy Migurdia became his magic tutor, later declaring him her first graduate and noting his unusual intelligence, effort, maturity, and magical ability 10. Alongside magic training, he studied basic swordsmanship under Paul, though he recognized that his aptitude with a sword lagged behind his magical talent 8 27.

At age seven, Paul sent Rudeus to Roa as Eris Boreas Greyrat's private tutor. Personality

Rudeus is analytical, curious, and highly adaptive. As a child, he approached magic, language, swordsmanship, and social structures as systems to be understood. As Eris's tutor, he shifted his teaching approach after recognizing that conventional lessons would not hold her interest 3 8 19.

His strongest motivation is protecting his family. He has repeatedly prioritized Aisha, Zenith, his wives, and his children over his own safety, including pleading to Orsted for Aisha's life and pursuing dangerous methods to cure Zenith 47 91 104. A separate sequence depicts Rudeus pursuing Zenith's cure through increasingly lethal experimentation. He purchases slaves for his research and later conducts experiments on members of several races, causing numerous deaths before successfully curing Zenith after ten years 171 177.

In this account, his actions are exposed, Zenith dies by suicide, and Rudeus becomes consumed by revenge against Orsted. He researches time magic, joins forces with other gods, and is ultimately defeated by Orsted 178.
