Background / History
Lara was born as Roxy Migurdia and Rudeus Greyrat’s second daughter. Even as an infant, she was unusually active: at five months old, she crawled throughout the house and repeatedly tried to walk away from Roxy’s supervision. Rudeus tested whether she was a reincarnator, but found no indication that she recognized other languages or retained another life’s memories. 132
Six months after her birth, Lara used a familiar-summoning scroll supplied by Orsted to summon the Holy Beast, a large white dog that immediately showed affection toward her. She named him Big White and treated him as both a mount and a companion. 135 137
Her magical talent surfaced early. At three, Lara could use intermediate-tier chantless magic, learn mana control after a single explanation, and help restore farmland in the Migurd village. She also wanted to learn Demon God Language so she could communicate with her maternal relatives. 143
By the age of five, Lara had begun seeing the future. Although foreknowledge changed how she experienced events, she learned that the future was not fixed when Rudeus invited Nanahoshi and Orsted to her birthday party despite their absence from the future she had seen. 209
Appearance
Lara has blue hair inherited from Roxy and remains notably small even as a teenager. 139 288
- Often travels on Big White’s back. 301
- Uses the Arrogant Water Dragon King, Rudeus’s staff, after coming of age. 301
- In another-world attire, she wears a short light-brown cape, white shirt, dark gray-blue mage’s vest, dark travel clothes, and short boots. 349
Personality
Lara is playful, mischievous, and openly aware of how much Rudeus indulges her. She enjoys pranks, including pretending to be Roxy so that Rudeus mistakenly leaned on her shoulder, and she frequently teases her family. 285 301
She is proud of her magical ability and enjoys being recognized as “Lady Lara,” yet her vanity does not prevent her from acting when she foresees danger. She dislikes the burden of seeing disasters before they happen, but chooses to intervene for her family’s safety and for the future Orsted is trying to protect. 326
Despite her talent, Lara can be lazy and impulsive. She skips classes, researches ways to break her father’s soundproof barriers, and struggles to cook edible meals. When criticized, however, she is willing to learn—such as taking notes on a ramen recipe after Lucy challenged her cooking. 226 252 361
Abilities & Skills
Foresight
Lara can see glimpses of the future, allowing her to identify events that threaten people important to Orsted’s plans.
- Saw a future in which a country was destroyed by a monster tide and acted to prevent it. 326
- Foresees smaller events as well, including Paul’s casino outing. 339
- Can use her visions to identify future meetings, such as Orsted’s possible encounter with Ilsarion after Laplace’s defeat. 341
- Her visions have limits; on one occasion, she could not see Rudeus’s future at all. 226
Chantless Magic and Magical Theory
Lara possesses exceptional imagination and magical intuition, enabling her to learn spells with minimal instruction.
- Cast intermediate-tier chantless magic at age three. 143
- Learned mana control after being taught only once. 143
- Could reproduce techniques after seeing and hearing them explained once. 179
- Had learned the magic known by Roxy and Sylphie, as well as most of Rudeus’s magic, by age four; her mana handling was still immature at that point. 204
- Tried to teach Lucy chantless magic, but struggled to explain concepts that came naturally to her. 210
Gravity, Teleportation, and Concealment Magic
Lara uses utility and battlefield magic as naturally as offensive spells.
- Employs gravity magic to immobilize opponents and create traps. 326
- Uses teleportation circles for long-distance travel, including transporting Windsor and Milusha to the Great Forest. 293
- Can make herself and Big White invisible while remaining detectable by mana sensing. 293
- Uses flight magic to travel rapidly between teleportation circles and battlefields. 326
Large-Scale Destructive Magic
Lara can deploy high-tier spells beyond ordinary military magic.
- Cast a Saint-class grand spell while still attending the academy. 245
- Used an Emperor-tier fire spell to erase a monster tide after drawing the creatures into a gravity trap. 326
- The spell devastated the surrounding land, leaving it unsuitable for cultivation, though Lara proposed turning the area into a trade route instead. 326
Dollmaking
Lara learned dollmaking from Rudeus and assisted his disciples, Zanoba and Julie.
- Spent an afternoon making dolls with Rudeus, Zanoba, and Julie. 226
- Was regarded by Zanoba and Julie as their senior sister in the craft. 226
