"A little while ago, Eris suddenly started showing signs of morning sickness. When I asked her about it, I found out she'd missed her period too, so we're fairly certain she's pregnant."
"I was going to tell you as soon as possible, but these past couple of days... uh, how should I put it? You and Nanahoshi both seemed pretty busy, and I couldn't find a good moment, so I didn't want to disturb you." Rudeus chose his words carefully.
"It's not too late to tell me now." Hilde turned to Eris. "Congratulations."
"Does being pregnant mean I can't go?"
Eris tilted her head. "I feel fine, though. Nothing feels wrong with my body."
"That's true for now, but the longer it goes on, the harder it'll be for you to move around. If you don't believe me, ask Sylphy and Roxy. Eris, you have to listen to me on this." Rudeus's tone grew more serious.
"...Okay."
Eris pressed her lips together and said nothing more.
"Whatever the case, it's good news. You two keep at it."
Hilde nodded.
So Rudeus's household would have three children now...
Hilde had actually been a little worried before.
After all, Sylphy and Roxy both already had children, while Eris was the only one in the family who didn't. It wasn't enough to create a rift between them, but it still made things somewhat delicate.
Now, though, that was settled. Everyone in the family was on equal footing.
"Since it wouldn't be convenient for Eris to go, forget what I said earlier."
Hilde rose to her feet. "I really only came to let you know. I'll probably be away from Sharia for quite a while, so if anything urgent comes up, get in touch with me through Perugius."
With that, Hilde prepared to leave.
