Background

Roxy left her Migurd village at fourteen in search of freedom and became an adventurer on the Demon Continent. Wanting to grow stronger, she later attended Ranoa Magic University, where discrimination against her demon heritage and conflict with her teacher Jinas shaped her determination to become a better instructor herself 247.

She answered Paul Greyrat's notice for a private magic tutor and became the teacher of the young twins Rudeus and Hilde. Their self-taught, chantless magic initially shook her confidence, but she recognized that advanced magic required theory and guided them through magical classifications, history, culture, and the wider world 4. Before leaving the household two years later, she recognized Rudeus as a Water Saint-tier magician and gave both twins magic staffs as her disciples 7 8.

Afterward, Roxy traveled as an adventurer, conquered a labyrinth alone, and gained enough renown to be appointed court magician of the Shirone Kingdom 18. She later left Shirone after the Great Teleportation Incident to search for Rudeus and Hilde, eventually reuniting with Hilde at Zant Port while preparing to cross to the Demon Continent 154.

Roxy traveled with Elinalise and Talhand through the Demon Continent, where she and Hilde investigated the party called “Dead End” and reunited with Rudeus, Eris, and Ruijerd. During their reunion, Roxy learned that Rudeus and Eris had visited her Migurd village and met her parents, Rowin and Rokari 162 166.

After the Teleportation Labyrinth expedition, Roxy returned to Sharia with Rudeus and pursued her earlier goal of becoming a teacher at Ranoa Magic University. She was later actively teaching there when she became afflicted with Magic Stone Disease during her pregnancy 246 270 335 355.

Following her recovery, Roxy gave birth to Lala and welcomed Rudeus's daughter Lucy into the family. When Rudeus left to pursue Sylphy, Roxy remained in Sharia with Lala and Aisha; Rudeus later planned to return to her as soon as possible 391 398 399 473.

Personality

Roxy is gentle, nurturing, and deeply committed to her students. As the twins' tutor, she teaches in a bedside-story manner, and years later she continues searching for them after the Great Teleportation Incident because she considers helping endangered students a teacher's duty 4 154.

Though she once saw herself as a genius, meeting extraordinary people such as Rudeus and Hilde forced her to acknowledge her own limits. Surviving the Teleportation Labyrinth further changed her priorities: rather than seeking greatness, she comes to value ordinary happiness, teaching, love, and a peaceful home 4 243 247.

Roxy can be self-conscious and clumsy, particularly about romance and her youthful appearance, but she remains resilient under pressure. While trapped alone in the labyrinth, she repeatedly fought through monster-filled rooms and rationed her supplies rather than surrendering to despair 243. She is proud of Rudeus's magical achievements, though realizing that he has surpassed her leaves her privately conflicted 350.

Roxy becomes Rudeus and Hilde's first formal magic teacher after their uncontrolled magic destroys part of the Greyrat home. She broadens their education beyond spellcasting and leaves after recognizing their progress 4 8.

Search for Her Missing Students

After learning that Fittoa Territory was devastated by the Great Teleportation Incident, Roxy abandons her position in Shirone and searches across the world for Rudeus and Hilde. She reunites with Hilde at Zant Port and helps investigate the adventurer party called “Dead End” as a possible lead 154 162.

Teleportation Labyrinth

Roxy joins Paul’s search party to rescue Zenith. A random teleportation trap isolates her on the labyrinth's third floor, where she is nearly killed after more than half a month of fighting and starvation. Rudeus reaches her by trusting his “Roxy Radar” intuition and freezes the surrounding monster horde with Frost Nova 239 242 243 244.

Marriage and Teaching at Ranoa

Following the labyrinth expedition and Hilde's reported death, Roxy helps Rudeus emerge from his grief. She returns to Sharia, pursues a teaching position at Ranoa Magic University, and marries Rudeus 266 270 279 292.

Magic Stone Disease and Motherhood

During pregnancy, Roxy contracts Magic Stone Disease, a fatal illness that gradually crystallizes her body. Hilde seeks the Millis Faith's God-tier detoxification magic while Rudeus remains at Roxy's side; Roxy is ultimately cured and later gives birth to Lala 356 359 370 391.

Hitogami's Plot and Lala's Birth

Orsted determines that Hitogami sought to prevent Roxy and Rudeus from becoming a couple because their child would become a Savior destined to oppose Demon God Laplace. Leo confirms that the unborn child is this Savior, making Roxy's recovery and safe delivery central to opposing Hitogami's plans 372.

After recovering from Magic Stone Disease, Roxy gives birth to Lala, a healthy daughter. Soon afterward, she accepts Lucy into the household following Rudeus's revelation of Lucy's parentage 391 397 398.

Rudeus's Departure

When Rudeus learns that Sylphy has left, he decides to pursue her despite having only recently welcomed Lala with Roxy. Roxy understands and supports his decision, although their parting is painful. She remains at home with Lala and Aisha while Rudeus leaves; after catching up with Sylphy and reuniting with Eris, Rudeus intends to return to Roxy in Sharia as soon as possible 399 432 473.
