The God of Destruction Wants to Destroy a Planet, Little Vegeta Rushes Forward, Falls Face-First, and Gets Picked Up
"Fuck!"
The curse in Gou Kong's heart was fiercer than the raging winds sweeping across Planet Vegeta.
He had heard it clearly. From the moment he stepped into the great hall, that fragmented conversation had been like poison-tempered needles, stabbing one after another into his eardrums, shattering the last of his wishful thinking.
So that was it!
This was the fucking fuse?
That old fool King Vegeta had been driven purely by greed!
He had actually dared to steal the Supreme Pillow of the World, the one originally meant as an offering to the God of Destruction Beerus, then tried to pass off an inferior substitute in its place!
That kind of trickery, deceiving those above while hiding it from those below, was like an ant trying to scheme in front of a dragon to a god like Beerus, who had lived for who knew how many hundreds of millions of years. Ridiculous, pathetic, and even more hateful!
"This is the worst fucking development... bar none!"
Gou Kong felt a chill shoot from his tailbone straight to the top of his skull, cold seeping through every limb and bone.
It was over. All over!
He had trained so painstakingly and pushed his combat power to 19,000, thinking he could escape unscathed from Frieza's planet-destroying operation, and maybe even grab a few benefits along the way.
But now?
Before that purple-skinned onion-head Frieza could even appear, the God of Destruction was about to wipe this planet away like dust first!
The combat skills he took pride in, the "results" of beating Vegeta and Raditz until they cried for their mothers in the training grounds, were worth jack shit in front of a real god!
That overwhelming terror born from the instinct of life itself made his legs tremble violently beyond his control, his very bones wailing.
This was no longer the shudder one felt when facing a powerful enemy. This was despair before an irresistible force.
"If only I could do something... but right now, I don't even fucking dare move a finger!"
Gou Kong clenched his fists so tightly that his nails nearly dug into his palms, yet he felt no pain at all.
He understood with absolute clarity that in this situation, any self-righteous resistance was the same as suicide!
As long as he made the slightest movement, even if his breathing grew just a fraction heavier, and angered Beerus, the consequences would not merely be this planet's destruction. Even he, Gou Kong, this lonely soul from another world, would be erased completely from causality itself!
Beerus's mood was clearly rotten to the extreme.
That faintly emanating wave of purple energy was like the Sword of Damocles hanging over everyone's heads, ready to fall at any moment.
Gou Kong even felt that his current survival was based entirely on Beerus "not being in the mood to act for the time being."
Once this Lord God of Destruction got bored, or simply wanted to hear something go boom, then the chance of a Bad End was as high as 99.99999%!
"Other than standing here like a fucking idiot and watching helplessly, I can't do a damn thing!"
Despair drowned him like a rising tide.
The great hall was deathly silent. There was only King Vegeta's heavy, sobbing breaths, and Beerus's languid yet chilling voice.
"Lately, I have grown increasingly disgusted with crude creatures like Saiyans. You clearly have no reverence for the God of Destruction, yet you still dare to strut around before me... and when I tried to warn you, you actually dared to fob me off with a pillow?"
Beerus bent down. There was no expression at all on that catlike face covered in black and blue stripes, only endless indifference.
He moved his foot off King Vegeta's back, then stretched out one claw and casually grabbed the old king by his slightly thinning hair. Like lifting a rag, he hauled him up, forcing that terror-twisted face level with his own gaze.
"Seeing such insolence from you, I have changed my mind. An inferior race like yours, ignorant of divine authority, does not deserve a future. Right here, I shall thoroughly purify this filth and return peace and quiet to the universe."
"Lord Beerus... spare me...! Please give me one more chance... just one...!"
King Vegeta completely broke down. Snot and tears smeared his entire face as he struggled desperately and begged, but that bit of strength was not even enough to count as scratching an itch in front of Beerus.
Beerus did not even twitch an eyebrow, as if the one wailing before him were not a king, but a stinking bug about to be crushed.
Purple light flashed in his eyes. A terrifying purple energy began spreading from within his body, and the air in the entire great hall instantly turned viscous and heavy, as if even space itself were about to be crushed under that power!
"It's coming!" Gou Kong's heart stopped abruptly, and all the strength in his body seemed to be drained away in that instant.
He knew that once Beerus began releasing destructive energy, it meant complete, irreversible annihilation!
The ship had already sunk. Nothing could quell this true god's wrath!
Images from the original work flashed through his mind in an instant: Beerus flying into a rage at the birthday banquet because Buu refused to share the pudding, nearly destroying Earth.
That time, they had gotten through safely entirely thanks to Vegeta's quick-witted mediation, as well as the miracle Goku and the others later pulled off with the "Super Saiyan God."
"Here... is there anyone who can awaken as a Super Saiyan God?"
Gou Kong swept his gaze across the great hall in despair.
Vegeta?
That little brat was probably still playing with mud at home right now.
Bardock?
That silent blockhead's combat power would at most break ten thousand. He was still impossibly far from the realm of gods.
As for the others, they were even more a bunch of trash with a combat power of five!
"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"
Faced with this suffocating reality, Gou Kong could not help clutching his head with both hands, roaring madly inside.
Oh god!
Was this how it ended?
King Vegeta, you senile old idiot!
You clearly knew who Beerus was. You clearly knew he was a walking, world-ending catastrophe. Why would you do something this stupid?
Did you think the God of Destruction was someone you could fool?
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!!!"
Countless curses churned through Gou Kong's mind.
Faced with this utter powerlessness, swearing had somehow become the only way he could vent his emotions.
He even thought that if he'd known this old king was so determined to court death, he should have found a way to kill him back then and take the throne himself—or at the very least, smooth things over in advance.
But now, it was too late for anything!
Just as Gou Kong had fallen into complete despair and was about to close his eyes to await destruction—
"Ahhhhh—!"
A childish yet explosive roar suddenly burst out from behind him!
Gou Kong went rigid all over and snapped his head up to look!
The crowd had automatically parted to form a path, and a tiny figure was charging madly in Beerus's direction!
That unruly, flame-shaped black hair, that little face flushed red with rage—who else could it be but Prince Vegeta?
"Vegeta?"
Gou Kong's pupils shook!
When had this little brat run over here?
What was he trying to do?!
At that moment, every terrified Saiyan in the hall, including King Vegeta, who had been lifted into the air, and even Beerus, whose laziness carried killing intent, all turned their heads at the same time. Every gaze focused on that little bean of a child charging over without regard for anything.
"Whoa, Your Highness!" someone cried out instinctively.
Vegeta's fists were clenched tight, his small face twisted with a ferocious rage completely at odds with his age. As if he meant to tear apart the god stepping on his father, he charged at Beerus without the slightest fear, his posture actually suggesting he was about to swing a punch!
However—
Thud!
The collision everyone had imagined did not happen.
Six-year-old Vegeta was still far too young, after all.
That pitiful bit of courage he had crumbled in an instant beneath the terrifying pressure carried by nothing more than Beerus's sidelong glance!
His legs went weak, and he tripped over his own feet, falling flat on his face with a solid slam, getting up close and personal with the cold floor as a dull impact rang out.
The entire hall fell into deathly silence once more. Only the lingering echo of Vegeta's fall remained.
"Heh. This little guy's got some nerve."
Beerus let out an ambiguous chuckle, seeming to find a trace of amusement in this sudden "entertainment."
With a casual wave, he flung King Vegeta, whom he had been holding, away like a piece of trash.
With a thunk, the old king slammed heavily into a load-bearing pillar in the distance, slid to the ground, and his fate was unknown.
Beerus no longer paid any attention to that useless king. Instead, he walked straight toward Vegeta with elegant steps, the boy still dizzy from the fall and struggling to get up.
He bent down, stretched out a claw, and precisely hooked the back of Vegeta's battle suit. Like picking up a kitten, he easily lifted that small body into the air and brought him face-to-face.
Vegeta was held aloft, his little face turning purple. He clenched his teeth in fury, and though those dark, round eyes were filled with fear, there was even more unyielding anger in them.
However, unlike when he bared his teeth and claws at Gou Kong, before this true divine might, he could not say a single word. He could only glare fiercely at Beerus, expressing his unwillingness with his eyes.
