Nero was truly speechless. He should have just stayed put—why had he run out here for no reason?
After provoking this little ancestor, he felt like crying but had no tears.
With one hand on his forehead, Nero pointed at the fuming little girl Lacus and fiercely said to Kashut, "Take your daughter and get out of here. Now!"
Though his words were forceful, they carried a deep helplessness.
Kashut was startled. Something was off with Nero. How long had it even been? Why was he letting him take Lacus away without even mentioning any conditions?
"Nero, is there something wrong with you?"
Kashut paid no attention to Demigra, whose eyes were bulging, and asked in bewilderment.
Android 18 beside him had no such doubts. Her hovering body stealthily approached Lacus. At the critical moment, she suddenly spread her arms and tightly embraced Lacus. White transparent aura burst forth, and she transformed into a streak of white light as she returned to Kashut's side.
She looked so anxious and hurried, as if ghosts were chasing her from behind.
"Wow, my sweet daughter! It's wonderful that you're all right." Android 18 looked thrilled as she lifted Lacus high in her arms, then vigorously rubbed her pretty face against the girl's soft pink cheeks.
"Mmph, mmph..." Pouting, little Lacus unhappily pointed at Nero, her warm-colored eyes still glaring sideways at him.
It seemed that unless Nero apologized, she would not look away.
This left Nero so stifled that he nearly suffocated, almost dying of oxygen deprivation before he could react and replenish his oxygen supply.
Kashut had originally intended to step forward, but he looked at the one remaining head of Demigra in his hand, then at Lacus in Android 18's arms, and finally at the distant Nero, who was so stifled
