Quirrell's Choice, Newt Has Arrived
In a small cabin in Dorset.
"Newt, is it over?"
Hearing his wife's call, Newt quickly responded:
"Okay, honey, I'm going to sleep right away."
Newt waved his wand, quickly drying the water stains on his clothes.
It's currently mating season for the Kelpie Kelpie, so he has to keep a close watch on them to prevent them from turning the water world upside down and affecting the adjacent spaces.
"Mr. Scamander!"
Upon hearing that familiar voice, New York saw a pale golden figure appear directly in front of him.
Somewhat surprised that Liuguang hadn't knocked this time, Newt still smiled and asked:
"Oh, Liuguang, Lucien sent you to deliver again..."
However, before Newt could finish speaking, Liuguang hurriedly interrupted:
"Mr. Scamander, the Unicorn of the Forbidden Forest..."
As Liuguang recounted the key points of the matter, he also handed the paper held aloft on the Auspicious Cloud to Newt.
Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Newt quickly scanned the contents of the paper.
"Unicorn, about to give birth, severely injured..."
Newt muttered to himself.
Then, with a light tap of his wand, a trench coat floated in and draped over his shoulders.
A plain brown leather briefcase flew into Newt's hands simultaneously.
Newt instinctively prepared to use Apparition and head towards the Forbidden Forest.
However, Liuguang had already taken a step forward, and with Newt in tow, they vanished from the spot.
A few minutes later.
A series of yawns rang out:
"Newt, Kelpie, go to bed early..."
Receiving no response, Tina rubbed her eyes and walked into the living room, glancing at the empty room.
Where are they?
Inside a cave in Forbidden Forest.
A green flame briefly illuminated the dim cave.
Quirrell expressionlessly waved his wand, stopping the bleeding from his severed arm.
Then the silvery-white viscous liquid stuck to the robes and mask was peeled off and condensed into a blood sphere in mid-air.
The next second, Quirrell's face contorted in pain.
"Ah--"
A painful, hoarse roar escaped from his throat.
He was tormented not only by the pain of broken limbs, but also by the pain of his flesh being overdrawn and transformed into magic.
Quirrell even felt as if his soul had been kneaded and torn apart.
He slumped against the cave wall, panting heavily.
"Drink it."
A cold, indifferent voice echoed in Quirrell's mind.
Upon hearing Voldemort's order, Quirrell gritted his teeth and stared at the silvery-white blood orb floating before him.
That viscous, mercury-like liquid was like poison.
Quirrell knew very well the consequences of drinking Unicorn Blood.
It could prolong his current, incomplete life, but at a price...
Become a cursed being, half-dead and half-alive!
Quirrell had a splitting headache, and the pain was tearing his thoughts apart.
He couldn't understand it.
Why?
Why did all this happen tonight?
This long-planned scheme has completely failed.
They did not obtain the blood from the Unicorn fetus.
Faced with the strange creature that suddenly appeared, Voldemort changed his plan again and insisted on getting the creature's blood.
But what was the result?
Sacrificing Quirrell's own flesh and blood, pushing his already decaying life to the brink of death, didn't even yield the magic he gained to achieve his goal!
They did not obtain the blood of that strange creature.
No, even if he obtained it, given the excruciating pain upon contact, he might not be able to take it directly, thus allowing Voldemort to recover even better!
Now, with only the Unicorn Blood available, Quirrell himself still has to bear the curse!
He also lost an arm.
His life was truly like a candle flickering in the wind.
"If you don't drink, you'll die tonight too."
He seemed indifferent to what Quirrell thought, and even less concerned about Quirrell's life or death.
Voldemort's voice remained indifferent; at worst, he would simply change bodies and start plotting again.
Voldemort went too far down the path of immortality.
With so many Horcrux around, who can truly kill him?
Whether Quirrell's storyline succeeds or not, Voldemort can afford to wait.
But Quirrell couldn't wait.
Either drink the Unicorn Blood before you to prolong that broken life.
Either let this wretched life end in some unknown cave in the Forbidden Forest.
Just as Quirrell was hesitating in confusion, the cluster of green flames went out.
I don't know how much time passed.
"Gurgle--"
A faint swallowing sound echoed in the cave.
Inside the crimson-gold flame shield.
Lucien frowned deeply, and he extended a dozen or so fine strands of magic from his wand.
He examined the injuries of Selenia and her child, stitched up the wounds, and used the life force brought by the Qilin Saliva to accelerate the healing process.
Asterion, who was standing to the side, paced back and forth anxiously.
Its injuries were actually relatively minor, although its throat was cut open and it lost a lot of blood.
However, it was not affected by Dark Magic curses or poisons, so it has regained its mobility thanks to the effects of the Qilin Saliva.
Asterion lowered his head and touched his wife's long horns, letting out a hoarse, sorrowful wail.
Lucien reached up and wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"The key is still the potion; this complex toxin is too difficult to eliminate..."
"Moreover, besides the physical damage, how could the fetus also have problems with its Magic Circuit?"
"The life force contained in Qilin blood far surpasses that of Qilin Saliva, but it doesn't seem to have any effect on repairing Magic Circuit."
Lucien, who was treating the Unicorn, suddenly sensed something and looked up.
The figure of the little Qilin appeared, with a tall, thin old man wearing a trench coat and with curly hair beside him.
Upon seeing the unfamiliar human, Asterion instinctively looked up, and his horn glowed faintly in response.
"Asterion!"
Lucien gave a soft shout to stop the Unicorn, while Liuguang explained to it that this creature had come to help save its life.
Asterion quickly extinguished the silver light on his horn and bowed his head to Newt.
Newt didn't speak to Lucien immediately, but instead squatted down next to Selenia.
He transformed his wand into a trumpet-shaped object, one end larger than the other.
Place the larger end against Selenia's abdomen and the smaller end against her ear.
After listening for a while, Newt said urgently:
"The baby is full-term, and today may be the day of delivery."
"But this Unicorn is in such poor condition that it cannot reproduce normally."
Newt then pointed to the deep wound on Selenia's abdomen and said:
"The fetus's problem is more serious; we can't delay any longer. We'll perform a C-section right here."
"The mother and child should be treated separately!"
Lucien nodded.
"Is there anything I need to do?"
Newt quickly opened the briefcase, from which a workbench flew out, followed by various bottles and jars and a complete set of potion-making tools.
He took several containers and poured out liquid medicine or powder from them, some of which he applied to Selenia's abdomen, and some he fed to her.
He said without even looking up:
"Could you please help me concoct a few additional magical potions? The steps are..."
Lucien remembered Newt's request and quickly began working on the potion-making materials on the workbench.
"Mr. Scamander, the Magic Circuit in that Unicorn fetus also has a problem; there are obvious breaks."
Upon hearing this, Newt's hands visibly stiffened.
"This..."
"I've never seen anything like this before—the repair of Magic Circuit."
