Niffler Jinji, A Guide to Raising Fire Dragons
Lucien was carrying a small, mole-like creature.
The little Niffler is rummaging around with its paws, stuffing something into its belly pocket.
"I'm so sorry, Jinji is still young, and his curiosity is at its peak..."
Newt gave an awkward laugh and took the Niffler puppy named Jinji from Lucien's hands.
With one hand gently pinching Jinji's neck, Newt used the other hand to scratch the little guy's soft belly.
Unable to bear the Niffler, Sniff kept wriggling its waist and squeaking, while pieces of gold and silver treasures fell out of its belly pocket.
Lucien swiftly grabbed the Circuit Expansion Stele, noticing that the surface of the stone slab already had Niffler patterns and Magic Circuit.
Phew, thankfully it was discovered in time.
"Jinji? This little guy's fur color is quite unusual."
Lucien looked at Jinji, who was still dropping things. Most Niffler are black, but there are also gray, light blue and other colors.
However, the little Niffler in front of us was entirely white and gold, without a single other color, and looked very beautiful.
Newt held Jinji in his hands, but the little guy kept trying to jump down and pick up the treasure on the ground.
Seeing this Lucien and Newt couldn't help but laugh, with the latter saying:
"Jinji is the descendant of an old friend of mine. Its fur color is indeed very rare, and if it were released into the wild, it would easily attract the attention of unscrupulous wizards. Moreover, its health is not very good, so I decided to keep it with me."
Lucien took out a Galleon and waved it in front of Jinji. The little guy was immediately attracted and stretched out his little paw to grab it.
Watching Lucien playfully tease the Niffler with a smile, Newt suddenly suggested:
"Lucien, would you like to try raising a Niffler?"
You mean Jinji?
"Yes, provided you're willing."
Lucien briefly considered Newt's suggestion.
Although the Circuit Expansion Stele recorded the Magic Circuit of many Magical Creatures and accumulated a large number of samples, being able to carry them with you directly would allow you to observe and discover even more details.
It seems Mr. Scamander trusts me quite a bit, being willing to give me Niffler on our first meeting.
Hmm, raising a Niffler is quite easy, and...
Lucien stopped teasing Jinji and handed it the Galleon. The little guy grabbed the coin with its two front paws and stuffed it into its belly pocket.
The Niffler is really cute!
"If I encounter any problems while taking care of Jinji, I will ask you directly."
Hearing this, Newt smiled and handed the Niffler to Lucien.
Lucien held Jinji in his hands, while his free hand kept taking out Galleon from a pocket and handing them to Jinji one by one.
The Niffler readily accepted any of these Winky gold coins offered; for every one Lucien handed it, it would stuff one into its purse.
Hmm, Galleon is still too monotonous. I'll write to Aunt Penelope and ask her to send some fancy gold and silver jewelry.
"By the way, Mr. Scamander, what do I need to prepare and what precautions should I take if I want to raise and care for a Fire Dragon?"
Newt dismissed Lucien's question as a child's fantasy and hobby, after all, Fire Dragon are Magical Creatures with a strong fantastical element.
The most common Magical Creatures that Muggle encounter by accident is probably the Fire Dragon.
Even though the wizards tried their best to cast Obliviate on the Muggle who had seen the Fire Dragon, there were always a few who slipped through the net.
Therefore, legends and stories about Fire Dragon are very common in the Muggle world.
Newt thought it was a good thing that Lucien was interested in Magical Creatures, so he wasn't stingy with his sharing, casually remarking:
"Wizards are not allowed to raise Fire Dragon on their own, but if they work in places like dragon farms, then they do need to know more about Fire Dragon."
"For example, the hatching of Fire Dragon eggs needs to take place in flames. After the baby dragons are born, they need to devour a flame, which is usually provided by their parents..."
"If manual intervention is involved, you can feed the young dragons a mixture of brandy and chicken blood every half hour, which can improve their immunity..."
"Of course, even when facing a newborn dragon, you should cast Fireproofing Charm on yourself; the breath of those little guys is enough to burn through..."
Faced with Newt's generous sharing of knowledge, Lucien secretly memorized every detail and point of knowledge.
After all, he'll be raising Fire Dragon soon and training it to become the king of its kind, in order to repay the loan for the Magic Weaving.
Naturally, we must start from a young age, ensuring the health of the little Fire Dragon from birth so it can grow up strong and healthy!
Newt's experience is quite valuable; I can write to him later to ask further questions.
Find another opportunity to have Ron ask his second brother Charlie, who is now Fire Dragon keeper and must have unique insights into this matter.
If we get on this bandwagon, it will be easier to conquer other members of our race with our little Fire Dragon in the future.
Oh, and there's the Malfoy. They also have a dragon farm. If possible, try to visit it beforehand to prepare...
After discussing the Fire Dragon, Lucien inquired in detail about how to raise Niffler, which reassured Newt, who then explained the Niffler's diet, nesting, and other matters.
"Oh right, Jinji has a little hobby, she likes to look at the moon, especially the full moon."
Lucien nodded.
"I understand. I also keep Mooncalf, so it'll be perfect for keeping someone company."
Do you like looking at the moon?
Was it because the moon was also Winky, triggering the Niffler's instinct?
That's interesting.
Lucien scratched Jinji's belly and found it surprisingly soft and warm to the touch.
The old man and the young man had a very pleasant conversation, and time flew by.
Suddenly, Newt slapped his forehead, as if he had remembered something, and hurriedly began packing his suitcase.
"Oh no, oh no, I forgot to tell Tina before I left. Now I'm really in trouble when I get back..."
"Lucien, I'm off now, see you during summer vacation!"
"Ring ring--"
The school bell rang.
Lucien sat in the Defense Against the Dark Magic classroom, watching Quirrell stand in front of the podium and continue to read from the textbook in his stuttering manner.
Quirrell's face was still pale and bloodless, but he was no longer as thin as before, and his voice was slightly louder.
He was wearing black gloves on both hands, but the students didn't pay much attention to it. Professor Quirrell's attire was already strange enough, with a purple headscarf always wrapped around his head and a strong smell of garlic on him.
But Lucien noticed that Quirrell's right hand was mostly hanging at his side, and he was almost always holding the textbook with his left hand.
He quietly activated his Eye of Magic Sight, causing tiny vortexes to appear within it.
They began to observe the Magic Circuit within Quirrell's body.
oh?
The depletion and shrinkage at the end of the circuit stopped.
Is it because of Unicorn Blood?
According to Liuguang's recollection, Quirrell was covered in Asterion's blood at the time, so it seems he chose to drink it afterward.
but...
Lucien narrowed his eyes and "saw" that Quirrell's Magic Circuit were stained with a faint black aura, which was slowly spreading towards his heart.
The curse of drinking Unicorn Blood —a torment that leaves one half-dead.
The Magic Circuit on his left hand were dim and thin.
Can Dark Magic regenerate severed limbs? But are there still limitations?
Liuguang burned Quirrell's left hand, but unfortunately, Qi Luo cruelly cut off his own arm and escaped.
Looking at Quirrell, who seemed to be behaving normally, Lucien recalled the private conversation Dumbledore had with him after Newt left.
Dumbledore's attitude remained unchanged; he believed the situation was still under control and hoped Harry could complete his growth and adventures.
Lucien knew he couldn't dissuade him, after all, the Prophecy was undeniable; the Boy Who Lived would truly defeat Voldemort.
However, Lucien still remembered that Firenze, the Prophecy prophet, had once said that he could change the fate of others.
so...
How can we get rid of Voldemort, this troublesome character?
