The Great Serpent
The young wizards in the audience reacted differently, but they all had the same thought in their minds:
Some people earn the Order of Merlin, First Class, at the age of twelve, so why am I still losing hair because of school exams and job hunting after graduation?
The Slytherin table reacted the most strongly at this moment. They had an innate desire for glory; otherwise, they wouldn't have been assigned here.
Order of Merlin, First Class!
Malfoy's eyes gleamed as he stared at the gold medal on Lucien's chest, unable to contain his imagination about what it would be like to stand on that stage himself—it would definitely bring glory to the family!
As the heir to Pure-blood families, Malfoy was well aware of the value of Lucien's medal. Unlike the routine practice of previous Minister for Magic before retirement or the "bribes" of some Black family ancestor, Lucien earned this honor through his genuine achievements.
Harry and Ron were also whispering to each other at the next long table:
"Ron, will Lucien become a big celebrity in the Wizarding World from now on?"
Ron nodded vigorously in agreement, then gestured with his lip towards a spot on the Gryffindor table.
"Look at Percy's expression, he's so envious."
Hearing this, Harry looked in the direction of the voice and saw Percy staring intently at the High Table, his cheeks flushed. He was looking at Lucien, as well as at the important figures who were talking to Lucien.
Percy had boundless ambitions, and for that he longed to make a good impression on figures of authority.
Lucien, who is the same age as his younger brother, is already able to chat and laugh with those people!
The absurdity stemming from this stark disconnect between age and achievement has resonated with many.
Time passed, and the unforgettable awards ceremony came to a close.
Newt's suitcase world.
On the edge of that giant water tank, Lucien held up his wand, the deeper, wavy Water Pattern on his little finger emitting a faint blue light. After completing another loan after Christmas, the Water Pattern had now been upgraded to a high level.
Lucien, whose affinity for water element has been further enhanced, is manipulating a massive water sphere. A Kelpie is restlessly rampaging inside, but cannot break free from the sphere's restraints.
"I'm surprised I have to trouble you. It's mating season for the Kelpie, and they're all in terrible moods..."
Newt flicked his wand, causing the moisture on his clothes to evaporate automatically.
Lucien channeled his magic, and at the same time, the elemental Water Pattern on his fingers emitted blue light. A stream of azure water shot out from the tip of his staff, merging into a water sphere and swimming towards the mouth of the Kelpie like a fish.
The initially volatile water monster gradually calmed down after swallowing the stream of water and stopped stirring it violently.
Similar to the Thunderbird, which loves the element of lightning, its magic, imbued with elemental runes, can also soothe the Kelpie.
"You're welcome, it was nothing."
"Mr. Scamander, during our conversation earlier, it seemed that the guests didn't quite 'respect' Headmaster Dumbledore?"
Lucien asked curiously, explaining that after the awards ceremony, he had a private meeting with those important figures in the Wizarding World, but the atmosphere became awkward when Dumbledore appeared.
Hearing this question, Newt smiled helplessly.
"Perhaps it's because Dumbledore is busy with the Professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts; Dumbledore's probably invited everyone he knows. But lately, there have been rumors about this position..."
Lucien's lips twitched slightly. Hogwarts ' Defense Against the Dark Arts course had a notorious reputation for "killing" professors one after another. It wasn't that those famous figures in the Wizarding World disliked Dumbledore; they simply didn't dare to take on this cursed mess...
Newt: "I did recommend someone to Dumbledore, but he's been hesitant to accept due to his own special circumstances..."
What makes it special?
Lucien's mind raced, and just as he was about to ask, Newt asked first:
"Lucien, what exactly is that giant snake you mentioned in your last letter?"
