The Gap Between Beauxbatons and Hogwarts
In a corner of Beauxbatons restaurant, Lucien and Riemann are enjoying their dinner.
"Just speaking of food, Beauxbatons is definitely better than Hogwarts," Riemann a small piece of foie gras and putting it in his mouth. "If it weren't for Lucien, you taught the House-elf so many new dishes, we'd probably still be eating fish and chips and baked beans in tomato sauce..."
"Speaking of which, Beauxbatons is quite strict. They even have etiquette classes for the lower grades. That's much better than Hogwarts."
Lucien nodded silently in agreement. From what he had observed over the past two days, Beauxbatons students held a sense of awe towards their professors and headmaster, while Hogwarts seemed to offer a more comfortable environment.
"Hey yeah, Lucien, how's it feeling to be taking classes directly with fifth graders?"
Upon hearing Riemann's question, Lucien considered it for a moment.
"It wasn't as difficult as I imagined; Beauxbatons ' teaching pace doesn't seem that fast."
Riemann's lips twitched slightly; she really wanted to retort, "Lucien, you can't be judged by common sense."
"Ahem, I heard it's because Beauxbatons is a bit special; the O.W.L. Examinations here are held in the sixth year, so the pace is a bit slower. When I was in the fifth year, Hogwarts had already started reviewing lessons."
"I still have to take the N.E.W.T. Examinations when I get back, tsk tsk, coming to participate in the exchange competition is practically a 'vacation'."
Lucien somewhat agreed with what Riemann said. Basically, towards the end of the school year, the fifth and seventh graders are the busiest. Not only are they filling the library, but you can also see them studying in every corner of the school.
It's practically the middle school and college entrance exams for the wizarding world.
Hmm, once we get back to Hogwarts, we can develop some more potions to boost energy and improve learning. The old Ox-Horse Potion weren't strong enough, and their effects were relatively limited...
Riemann: "Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I feel that the professors at Hogwarts explain things more clearly and thoroughly, and I understand them faster?"
Although Riemann spoke with such uncertainty, Lucien could clearly sense that, in terms of the overall level of professors, Beauxbatons was still a step below Hogwarts.
The impact may not be significant during one's student years, but if students wish to continue their research in certain magical fields after graduation, the broadened horizons they gain from their professors during their school years will be crucial.
Riemann suddenly remembered something and said:
"Oh right, Professor Shafiq said he'd give us some extra lessons. I guess he thinks the alchemy level here in Beauxbatons is too high, and he's planning to give us some last-minute refresher lessons?"
Lucien was genuinely surprised that the lazy professor who loved to slack off would actually volunteer to "work overtime."
They arrived in Beauxbatons early; the exhibition match hadn't officially started yet.
The first round of written tests will be held the day after tomorrow, so it's understandable that Professor Shafiq wants to cram at the last minute; short-term memory is still a valuable resource.
After finishing his meal, Riemann glanced at the students around him and suddenly chuckled.
"Before I came here, someone told me that there were lots of beautiful women in Beauxbatons, and it's true."
Lucien chuckled, recalling that Nicolas had said something similar to him.
"I remember you have a fiancée, don't you?"
Even young masters and ladies in Muggle society consider marriage early on, let alone Pure-blood families that value lineage and are relatively conservative.
Both for the sake of continuing the family line and for the protection of family interests, Pure-blood wizards like Riemann often arrange marriages very early on, and it is also common for them to get married as soon as they graduate from school.
Upon hearing this, Riemann's expression turned serious, and she helplessly shrugged.
"So, I'm just enjoying the view. Back at Hogwarts, I'll have to prepare for Valentine's Day, even though we've celebrated it several times already..."
As he spoke, the slightly frivolous smile that had disappeared from Riemann's face reappeared. He looked at Lucien with a smile and said:
"Speaking of our Hogwarts ' most famous and charming man, Lucien Grafton, didn't he have any plans for Valentine's Day?"
"There are quite a few girls in Ravenclaw, even in Slytherin where I am, there seem to be some girls who are still hung up on you."
Lucien intended to brush it off casually, but a system notification suddenly rang in his mind, making his expression turn strange.
What is the Valentine's Day Battle?
