Headmaster's Office, after Phineas's harsh words "remind" him, the slight daze and recollection in Dumbledore's eyes quickly disappeared.

I moved the teacup aside and gently waved away the remaining steam in front of me.

Those bright blue eyes met Lucien's dark green eyes without any obstruction.

Dumbledore looked at Lucien quietly, awaiting his answer.

Want to learn Dark Magic to save people?

Lucien met that gaze, his tone calm and candid:

"I believe that to cure a curse, one must first understand what it is and how it works. This is unavoidable."

Dumbledore didn't immediately comment on this seemingly reasonable answer, but instead continued to press for answers, his tone remaining gentle.

Do you really believe that Dark Magic can be used to save people?

Without hesitation, Lucien said earnestly:

"I think I can give it a try. Besides, you have to try to know, right?"

Dumbledore, then slowly clasped his hands together in front of him, his gaze fixed on Lucien's face, as if observing him or pondering something.

Dark Magic can torture, control, and kill people...

But rescuing people?

Seeing Dumbledore silent, Lucien scratched his cheek with his index finger. He could guess what Dumbledore was worried about, but he didn't want to beat around the bush. Since things had come to this point, he might as well be more frank.

"Actually..." Lucien paused, "Besides wanting to learn Dark Magic to heal the curse, I did indeed have the idea of taking this opportunity to learn Dark Magic."

Dumbledore looked up at him.

Lucien continued, "Dark Magic is a vast field of knowledge. I find it difficult to completely ignore its existence."

Dark Magic is indeed vast and boundless—unlike fields such as Transfiguration, potions, and Alchemy, which have relatively clear definitions and distinct boundaries.

Dark Magic is different.

All magic that was considered "against the natural order" was thrown into the category of "Dark Magic".

Manipulating souls, transforming bodies, bloody killings, cursing and corrosive... the variety is vast and all-encompassing.

It is no exaggeration to say that it is vast and boundless.

Upon hearing Dumbledore instinctively raised his hand, intending to push the bridge of his nose with his index finger, but his finger only touched the skin.

He then realized that he hadn't worn his Half-moon Spectacles tonight.

Dumbledore then pressed his temples; Lucien's words reminded him of Grindelwald.

But upon closer examination, Lucien and Grindelwald are quite different.

Grindelwald uses magic and knowledge to realize his ideals, while Lucien focuses more on knowledge itself, purely driven by the desire to explore the unknown.

However, it was precisely this honesty that made Dumbledore trust Lucien even more.

Without saying anything more, Dumbledore simply raised his hand and waved it gently.

Several books on the bookshelf seemed to be drawn by an invisible hand, floating straight down and landing steadily on the table in front of Lucien.

"Read these first," Dumbledore said. "Later, you can borrow a few more related books from the library."

"You can learn the theoretical knowledge related to curses first, but please don't try it yourself. Come to me every week during afternoon tea time, and I will guide you."

After thinking for a moment, Dumbledore pulled out another piece of parchment, picked up a quill, and quickly wrote a few lines on it.

Those were the titles of several magical books involving curses, followed by his magical mark and signature.

Although Lucien had previously been granted a special borrowing pass, allowing him to borrow some books from the Restricted Section.

However, for books that clearly involve the realm of Dark Magic, this new borrowing slip is required as a "pass" for Madam Pince.

Lucien solemnly accepted the spellbooks and the borrowing slips, carefully put them away, then stood up and gave Dumbledore a slight bow.

Thank you, Principal.

Dumbledore nodded, picked up the tea which had cooled slightly, and took a sip.

He saw the joy in Lucien's eyes, but another thought flashed through his mind.

Regarding Nagini's curse, Dumbledore and Newt had actually explored ways to resolve it before she left.

Unfortunately, it ultimately failed.

The Blood Curse seeped deep into their bones, and they tried everything they could but were powerless to stop it.

Now, the boy says he wants to give it a try.

Dumbledore didn't know if Lucien could succeed; they had walked that path themselves and knew how difficult it was.

But at the same time, another thought flashed through Dumbledore's mind—

Actually, he also wanted to see just how good Lucien's talent for Dark Magic really was.

What will it be like when this young man truly ventures into that field?
