The Resurgence of a Magical Miracle, You Should Go to Durmstrang
The black aura grew increasingly dense, and the crimson of the Fiendfyre flames was mostly replaced by pitch black. The color of the flames changed from dark red to almost ink-black, but the heat they emitted was even more astonishing than before.
The air distorted under the intense heat, even forcing the white mist on the sea surface to retreat several feet.
As the onslaught of the Fiendfyre intensified, the rate at Firestorm of devouring energy gradually slowed down.
The speed at which the Lava Fire Fiendfyre n't keep up with the speed at which the Fiendfyre surged out. Clumps of Fiendfyre broke through the encirclement of the Lava Fire and spread around Lucien.
Looking at the raging Fiendfyre, an idea popped into Lucien's mind.
He summoned a cloud of silvery-white Patronus Charm mist.
The divine incantation mist did not condense into any form; it simply drifted towards Fiendfyre Fiery Blaze as a pure, faintly glowing wisp of mist.
The moment the mist came into contact with the Fiendfyre, the flames rapidly disintegrated.
A silver glint flashed in Lucien's eyes as he chanted the incantation:
Expecto Patronum
A burst of silvery-white light suddenly erupted, spreading outwards from Lucien as the center, like a silver sun rising over the reef.
Where the Fiendfyre was swept by the light, it looked like pencil marks erased by an eraser.
The old wizard's pupils contracted slightly as he saw a giant white snake coiled on the reef.
The snake was entirely silvery-white, its translucent body gleaming softly in the sunlight, its scales clearly visible.
Even with its body coiled up, it occupied half of the reef, completely concealing Lucien's figure.
As the divine mist replenished, the silver-white giant serpent continued to expand, its head held high, looking down at the old wizard opposite it.
"Patronus?" the old wizard murmured, a hint of surprise in his voice.
His gaze fell upon the dissipating remnants of the Fiendfyre in the sky—unlike the process of being devoured and transformed by the Firestorm, the Fiendfyre that came into contact with the Patronus were directly annihilated and completely disappeared, leaving no trace.
Ordinary Patronus are simply used to ward off dark creatures like Dementor.
The ability to apply the Patronus Charm in actual combat to counter and destroy other magic—this was something only the ancient Greek wizard, the legendary Andros, could do.
A bright light shone in the old wizard's eyes; he was now truly intrigued.
A magical miracle long lost to history is reborn in the life of a young wizard?!
There's no reason not to try it.
Black mist spread again, and Fiendfyre surged.
But deep within the darkness, a touch of deep blue quietly illuminates the scene.
The blue was deeper, purer, like a sapphire sealed within flames.
Finite.
A golden barrier suddenly lit up, lying across the center of the reef, separating the two who were poised to attack.
Countless runes flowed across the barrier, exuding a profound and steady aura.
The magic near the barrier quickly subsided.
Dumbledore's calm, resonant voice rang out. "Let's rest for a while."
Teleport back to the room.
As if the duel had never happened, Lucien and the old wizard sat facing each other, with hot tea and several plates of pastries in front of them— Honeydukes's new products brought by Dumbledore.
The two discussed matters related to curses, and the atmosphere was very harmonious.
They are like scholars exploring topics, or teachers and students imparting knowledge.
If you disregard the content of the conversation—how the curse erodes the body and soul, how it causes greater suffering, and the methods used to make the curse take root deep within—the scene really does look like an ordinary afternoon tea chat.
As the conversation deepened, the old wizard's expression gradually became serious.
They learned too fast.
Beyond his demonstrated learning and comprehension abilities, Lucien already possessed a considerable foundation in the study of curses.
They could quickly grasp the knowledge about Magic Circuit and bloodline curses, and even apply it to other situations, raising questions that even veteran wizards found novel.
The old wizard suddenly turned his head and glanced at Dumbledore was leaning against the wall in silence, and grinned.
"Sending this kid to Durmstrang wouldn't be bad. They allow the open study of Dark Magic there. It's a waste to keep him at Hogwarts, isn't it?"
Dumbledore whispered a reminder: "His parents are not wizards."
The old wizard curled his lip.
"That school is too old-fashioned. Anyone who's a wizard is considered a fellow countryman."
Durmstrang only accepts Pure-blood wizard. In recent years, the requirements have been slightly relaxed. It no longer has such strict requirements on the student's family lineage as before. As long as both parents of the student are wizards, they are also considered "Pure-blood".
The old wizard's tone carried a hint of disdain. "If I were the principal, I would definitely change Durmstrang's rules. There's a reason why some schools are getting worse and worse."
Dumbledore sighed inwardly, "But you didn't even graduate from that school. You were expelled for conducting overly dangerous Dark Magic experiments."
However, he didn't say this aloud; he simply picked up his teacup and silently took a sip.
The old wizard looked at Lucien again, his gaze filled with complex emotions.
Having witnessed Lucien's combat prowess and expertise in Dark Magic —and, more importantly, his groundbreaking invention of Instant Whisper in alchemy—he couldn't help but sigh: if this kid had been born a few decades earlier, perhaps he could have achieved "For the Greater Good"?
Of course, this is on the premise that Lucien agrees with the idea of "allowing wizards to live openly and honestly".
