Racial Magic
Newt stared at Lucien for a long while, his gaze sweeping back and forth over the faint silver sheen on Lucien's eyebrows and the ends of his hair. His brow furrowed slightly, revealing obvious worry. "You really changed your Magic Circuit to the Veela's racial circuits? Won't there be any side effects?"
Lucien casually flexed his fingers. "To be precise, it's the Magic Circuit of the Half-Veela. Once it reverts to its original state, there won't be any problems."
The Half-blood circuit is still primarily a wizard's tree-like Magic Circuit, but with added features of Magical Creatures circuits. It is not a complete replacement, but rather it grows some "branches" on the original structure—like a tree growing a few more special branches.
As he spoke, Lucien lightly tapped his wand against his heart. A soft light spread from the tip of the wand, like ripples on a calm surface of water. The faint silver light on his body dissipated, and the color of his hair quickly returned to its normal dark gold. His facial features became distinct again, and his previously feminine soft contours regained their original youthful charm.
He then manipulated the Magic Circuit again. This time, his bones made a slight crackling sound—his body suddenly grew much taller, his shoulders broadened, his jawline became more rugged and strong, his hair became thick and fluffy, and even his knuckles seemed to have thickened.
Lucien reached out and picked up a teacup from the table. A layer of grayish-white stone shell quickly spread across the surface of the cup, as if it were alive, covering the entire cup from the bottom to the rim.
Newt recognized the effect. "Giant's racial trait... the ability to petrify anything it touches, providing immense hardness and strong resistance to magic."
Lucien immediately deactivated the circuit Transfiguration, and his form returned to normal.
Newt took a deep breath, and it took him a while to find his voice. "Merlin's beard... it's simply miraculous magic. Not just a change in appearance, but even a corresponding mastery of the racial talents of Magical Creatures."
He couldn't help but lean forward, asking eagerly, "Could it simulate a complete Magic Circuit of Magical Creatures?"
Lucien shook his head. "I haven't tried that far yet. But I don't think a complete Magic Circuit Magical Creatures is suitable for a wizard's body."
Of course, if the body can also Transfiguration a corresponding Magical Creatures, that's another story.
His own Animagus has no form restrictions, but without a matching Magic Circuit, the Magical Creatures he transforms into are merely in appearance.
In reality, neither Half-blood Magic Circuit nor fully realized Magical Creatures circuits significantly improve spellcasting in simple duels.
After all, Lucien figured there were probably very few Magical Creatures that could defeat him.
The Half-blood Magic Circuit can sometimes be a limitation—while they can use racial magic, they may experience varying degrees of sluggishness when using certain wizarding spells. The closer the circuit Transfiguration is to that of Magical Creatures, the more sluggish the use of wizarding magic will feel.
This seems to confirm the view that the advantage of wizards lies in "learning" and mastering all kinds of magic. Perhaps in the depth of specific magic, they cannot compare with the racial magic of those Magical Creatures, but in the breadth of magical mastery, human wizards are far ahead.
The circuit shape is only altered when researching or practicing magic. In actual combat, it has little effect.
Lucien: "The process of healing Nagini from the curse, and the challenge of repairing the distorted circuits, gave me some inspiration for circuit Transfiguration."
Newt then smiled slightly, "I visited Nagini in your trunk before I came. She's definitely improved a lot; she's not as aggressive as before. She used to be like a cold, rabid beast, but now she seems to have gained some intelligence and wisdom..."
Sometimes new discoveries are triggered by chance. Newt himself has had several instances where, while caring for one Magical Creatures Magical Creatures, he conceived a way to help another.
Perhaps that wasn't the original intention, but it's a case of drawing parallels.
Newt was delighted by Nagini's transformation and saw greater hope in Lucien. Perhaps one day in the future, he would truly be able to meet his old friend again, as a human being.
