His voice was low, yet it echoed clearly through the Chamber of Secrets. "The two traitors, Anubi and Yan Feng, have both fallen. Ankh and the Soul-Summoning Banner have been reclaimed by our sect."
After a brief silence, a low, measured response came from the deepest darkness.
"Well done."
The voice seemed not to come from any one person, but to flow out from the shadows themselves.
The sect master, cloaked and forever masked—also the president of the Necromancer Underground Guild—Abaddon, slowly spoke.
Croaker lowered his head. Without any excess excitement, he simply replied in a deep voice, "Glory to the Death God."
Olihua, standing nearby, let out a soft chuckle. The three-colored curse markings on his face writhed slightly, as though alive.
"To remain hidden beneath the Ministry of Magic's nose for so long and casually take a legendary artifact while you were at it," he said with a hint of mockery, "that's you, Croaker. Something like Ankh is wasted in the hands of a beast like Anubi."
Naro stood quietly, his long black hair falling over his shoulders, his gaze fixed on the stone platform.
