A few more days passed, and before they knew it, March had arrived.

After March began, the weather became somewhat clearer. Yet whenever students went outdoors, the biting cold wind could still leave their hands and faces aching faintly.

Just as Skylar had expected, the investigation into the students' disappearances made no progress whatsoever and came to a standstill. Accompanied by Dumbledore, the two Aurors investigated every upper-year student and questioned every portrait, statue, and Ghost they could find, yet still came up empty-handed. No matter how dissatisfied the four families who had lost children were, they no longer had the means to keep making trouble.

After all, Dumbledore was still the most powerful wizard of the century and the spiritual leader of Europe's wizarding world. The fact that he was willing to make time and actively cooperate with the investigation was already a testament to his good temper. But that did not mean he was a lump of clay for others to mold as they pleased, much less that he would allow the Ministry of Magic's influence to further encroach upon Hogwarts.

In his heart, Hogwarts was a pure land of education. He would never allow politics to invade the school!
