Yu Changge shook his head instead, looking at Yu Xiaogang with a trace of pity. "Yu Xiaogang, why are you getting so upset for no reason?"

"Do you think that if I go to the Spirit Hall and they find out I'm from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, they won't mock me anymore?"

"You're saying this now because..." Yu Changge paused before continuing, "once I'm no longer in the clan, there'll be no one to share those jeers with you?"

"Didn't you always claim that you wanted to defy fate and change your destiny, to break through and show those people? Why should you care about their momentary ridicule?"

Yu Changge spoke without the slightest courtesy.

The veins on Yu Xiaogang's forehead bulged. "Shut up! Shut up! Who said I care about what those people say?"

"Who gave you permission to speak to me in that tone? My father is the Clan Head, and I'm a candidate for Young Clan Head!"

"You'd better remember that I'm the Young Clan Head. You're just an ordinary clan member!"

Seeing Yu Xiaogang in a rage, Yu Changge's mood remained unchanged. It was nothing more than an incompetent man's furious outburst.

Yu Yuanzhen wouldn't deliberately make things difficult for their family over an untalented youngest son like this. Their family was, at the very least, a Soul Saint family.

Besides, there were plenty of people in the clan who mocked Yu Xiaogang. And what about him?

He had tried to persuade Yu Xiaogang with kind words. If Yu Yuanzhen were to do something irrational for Yu Xiaogang, then there would really be no need to remain in this clan.

However, judging from some of the events in the original story, Yu Yuanzhen was at least a fairly rational person.

He did indeed dote on Yu Xiaogang, but that was limited to providing resources. He wouldn't suppress people simply because they mocked this so-called 'Young Clan Head.'

What was more, this 'Young Clan Head' had appointed himself!

Yu Changge looked at Yu Xiaogang with a 'disappointed' expression, as if he had been hurt. He sighed, then turned and left alone.

"Stop right there! Stop! I'm telling you to stop—didn't you hear me?"

Yu Xiaogang sincerely wanted Yu Changge to stay. He didn't care whether Yu Changge was really going to the Spirit Hall to study theory.

He only cared about his feelings and his own pride.

If Yu Changge really left, then all those people who had previously mocked Yu Changge would come mock him instead.

For more than a year, he had spent most of his time shut inside his room. He only came out occasionally when Yu Yuanzhen brought him resources, various kinds of meat, and medicinal herbs.

He claimed to be cultivating all day long.

But could a newly awakened Soul Master with only half a level of Innate Soul Power, who was still just a child, really cultivate all day?

That was actually impossible.

Yu Yuanzhen and the others simply saw through it without saying anything.

They were already so old. What hadn't they seen?

They had never seen a six-year-old child who could meditate for an entire day after awakening their Martial Soul.

For a newly awakened Soul Scholar, prolonged meditation was actually quite a burden.

But what about him?

He was Yu Yuanzhen's son. Wasn't his status hundreds of times higher than that of a Soul Saint's son?

Therefore, the pressure he endured was also hundreds of times greater than Yu Changge's.

Just then, Yu Tianqing and Yu Shuyao returned. They had heard Yu Xiaogang's roar from far away and hurried back.

"Yu Xiaogang, what are you doing at my house?" Yu Shuyao looked at him with open hostility.

Judging from Yu Xiaogang's attitude, she knew he had come looking for her son, and that it could be nothing good.

Yu Xiaogang ignored Yu Shuyao and her husband, leaving without a word.

When Yu Changge saw his parents return, he stopped packing his luggage. "Mom, Dad, you're back. He only came because he didn't want me to go to the Spirit Hall."
