History & Major Events

Legendary Mages and the High Tower

Five or six centuries earlier, Weavers were known as Legendary Mages, with perhaps only a dozen across the continent. By Hong Yuan’s arrival, the Federation has dozens, including nearly ten upper-ranked practitioners 302 320.

Fane and four fellow Weavers originally built the High Tower Institute’s Wizard Tower to investigate String Sorcery and the possible will of the Strings of Force. Later generations continued adding their research, making it Vysseran’s most powerful String Sorcery artifact 310 340.

The Weaver Purge

The Tree of Myriad Phenomena transforms captured Weavers into fruits containing their mental power and understanding of String Sorcery. The first documented Weaver fruit is produced from a golden-masked True God Church operative 315 316.

Demand for these fruits turns Weavers into targets for abduction and murder. Over four years, at least thirty are consumed; rival factions hunt one another while survivors conceal their whereabouts. Their own appetite for rapid advancement helps sustain the purge 337.

Failed Coalition Against Hong Yuan

More than twenty Weavers ambush Hong Yuan using time, ice, and fate techniques. His spatial defense turns their combined assault back upon them. His apparent death then prompts the coalition to fracture over possession of the Key of Worlds 339 340.

The ensuing struggle culminates in the Strings of Force’s manifestation and Hong Yuan’s victory over it. Most Weavers survive the aftermath, aided by protective artifacts; Hong Yuan restores them to roughly sixty or seventy percent of their strength 341 343 344.

Service Under the New Source of Sorcery

Hong Yuan later summons Vysseran’s twenty-seven surviving Weavers and orders them to gather Spellcasters, restore order in the major cities, and prepare the continent for relocation within three days to escape annihilation 348.
