Background
Lu Chao transmigrates to Prism Ring City in the Alliance State and discovers the talent Glutton: by devouring sufficient resources, he can undergo potential metamorphoses and obtain specialties from other dimensions. Seeking a route out of his disadvantaged background, he identifies martial arts, colonial implants, and superpower awakening as possible ways to raise his vitality. 1 3
He lives on Factory Street with his friend Zhao Yuanqing, where poverty, debt, crime, extortion, organ robbery, and gang violence make personal strength a practical necessity. Zhao Yuanqing looks after him after his arrival and later lends him money for martial-arts tuition and nutrition. 4 5 6
After awakening Primary Resilience, Lu Chao commits to Gold-Stone Martial Arts Hall despite being judged to have a lower-middle martial foundation. He endures the hall's training, joins the Training Building, and completes the first level of its combat art. 5 8 12 13
To sustain his training, he balances cleaning work with night-shift security at Dreamfire Bar. Chen Junhao's support, including a 10,000 Alliance Credit condolence payment and later monthly resources, allows him to overcome the escalating nutritional costs of cultivation. 16 17 32 33 40
Following his Combat Grade breakthrough, Lu Chao joins the Prism Ring City Patrol Bureau and develops into a reliable patrol officer under Yang Wangtao. He later becomes a Level 2 Patrol Officer and Third Squad captain, earning recognition through several dangerous cases. 59 111 180
His advancement eventually brings him into the Superpowered Bureau, where he rises to Superpowered Rank and later serves publicly as the Northwestern Inspector under the disguised identity of Inspector Chen. He reveals his true identity as Lu Chao to Ji Linxian and the Alliance State's senior superpowered personnel after the Northern Frontier campaign. 330 332 544 649
Appearance
Lu Chao is approximately 1.80 m tall. Martial training changes him from a thin young man into a sturdier, more defined fighter. 5 22 40
- Close-cropped hair and sharply defined features. 22
- Lean frame that gradually develops broader shoulders, back, and chest. 22
- At Combat Grade, his arms are heavily muscled; when using Rock Skin, his fists turn grayish white and stone-like. 43
- Commonly wears Gold-Stone's white-and-gray training uniform while practicing, and black clothing while working or off duty. 12 21 39
- At higher realms, his body becomes increasingly broad and powerful, and he can enlarge his musculature further when activating hard-body techniques or Berserk State. 325 351
- His Resilient Body allows him to make limited adjustments to his bones, muscles, height, build, and facial features, enabling practical disguises without perfectly replicating another individual. 229 243
- His Gold-Stone Aura is dark brown and may form a full suit of dense rock-like armor over his body. After perfecting Myriad Force Martial Arts, that aura gains a faint golden layer. 408 677
Personality
Lu Chao is disciplined, pragmatic, and intensely determined. Financial pressure, poor public security, and his limited martial foundation do not deter him; he treats martial arts as the path through which he can gain security and change his circumstances. 6 12 26
He is notably restrained in conflict. As Dreamfire Bar security, he subdues troublemakers without inflicting serious injury, and when attacked by an armed assailant, he chooses to involve Zhou Qiang and the Patrol Bureau rather than kill his attacker. 22 28
Lu Chao values loyalty and avoids becoming indebted unnecessarily. He initially declines Chen Junhao's financial help on principle, remains grateful for past assistance, and later accepts sponsorship only after considering its value and intending to repay it through future strength. 32 40
Though he remains measured and polite toward allies and civilians, Lu Chao becomes increasingly decisive and ruthless toward enemies who threaten those under his protection. He is willing to kill hostile cultists, Restorationists, assassins, and warlords when restraint would endanger others. 53 485 569
He remains conscious of the corrupting influence of power and martial techniques. After Ge Hongfeng warns him that techniques can shape a martial artist's temperament, Lu Chao resolves to restrain his growing aggression and maintain a steady state of mind. 296
Abilities & Skills
Glutton
Lu Chao's special talent converts consumed resources into Potential Progress. Filling that progress enables potential metamorphoses and the awakening of new innate specialties. 1 4
- Requires substantial nutrition and resources; progress resets after each specialty awakening. 5
- His increasing cultivation expenses drive him to seek better work, supplements, and eventually sponsorship. 14 25 40
- He plans to study pharmacology to create life potions and accelerate Potential Progress. 27
- High-grade supplements, Exotic Beast Meat, Neural Stabilizers, Qi Source Essence, and comparable resources can dramatically accelerate his Potential Progress and physical development. 49 451
- His later potential metamorphosis awakens Efficient Technique, an intermediate specialty from the Spiritual Transformation Dimension. 451
Primary Resilience
Lu Chao's first innate specialty enhances recovery, physical endurance, and his capacity for sustained training. 4 5
- Lets him recover from exhaustion by the following day without lingering fatigue. 12
- Allows a training volume more than double that of many peers. 12
- Supports repeated sparring sessions even against opponents with higher vitality. 14
- Develops into Resilient Body, whose active recovery can rapidly repair severe and potentially fatal injuries by consuming stored life energy. 217 370
- Its later transformed state helps him endure attacks from Nonhuman Rank opponents and supports repeated high-intensity combat. 635
Predatory Growth
Predatory Growth is a Glutton specialty centered on nutrient acquisition, digestion, and physical absorption. 48 49
- Enhances Lu Chao's digestion and absorption of nutrition, medicine, and other energy-rich resources. 48 49
- Causes an exceptionally high appetite because his transformed body requires substantially greater energy input. 48
- Includes Intuition Sensing, allowing him to sense the condition and Vitality of nearby carbon-based humans and perceive threats or abnormalities with greater reliability. 48 94
- Enables him to assess opponents' strength, detect hidden hostility, and identify the danger of toxins or unusual substances before consuming them. 48 137
Efficient Technique
An intermediate talent awakened after Lu Chao completes a later Potential Progress cycle. 451
- Greatly improves information processing, neural response, and thinking speed when Lu Chao enters a focused state. 451
- Works with his Focus state to let him predict and counter rapid attacks, including those from Nonhuman Rank opponents. 662
- Enhances his combat calculation and control without replacing his own judgment or martial experience. 451 662
Focus State and Stellar Visualization Method
Lu Chao studies the Stellar Visualization Method to strengthen his mind, perception, concentration, and resistance to mental interference. 178 344
- Completes the beginner stage of the Stellar Visualization Method and enters Flow State. 178
- Reaches the second level, Round Sun, improving his mental resistance, senses, body control, and the duration of Flow State. 344
- Uses Focus state to improve his combat index and bring his perception, reaction speed, and talent specialties to their highest effectiveness. 552 662
- Can release a powerful mental shockwave capable of disrupting enemies' mental states and interfering with superpowered equipment or techniques. 553 664
Gold-Stone Combat Arts
Lu Chao learns Gold-Stone Martial Arts Hall's combat system, completing its first level and integrating stance work, breathing, fist techniques, and footwork. 9 13 25
- Heavy Mountain Stance — foundational stance training for center of gravity, endurance, and strength. 9
- Iron Cross Stake — tempers flesh and tendons; its practice directly precedes his Combat Grade breakthrough. 13 36
- Hard Stone Combo — chaining fist and palm attacks to temper the body and pressure opponents. 13 24
- Flying Sand and Moving Stones — leg technique and footwork coordinated with breathing. 13 24
- Giant Rock Shake — one of the techniques he demonstrates during sparring with Zheng Wu. 31
- The later levels include deeper body-tempering methods, Thousand-Catty Drop, and the martial skill Bedrock, which Luo Qianshan personally teaches him. 104 174 183
- Bedrock progresses through Copper Flesh and Iron Bone, allowing Lu Chao to strengthen his skin, flesh, tendons, and skeleton to an extreme degree. 143 223 224
- At Elite Grade, Bedrock grants him the Bedrock Body, letting him ignore ordinary blades and withstand powerful impacts. 217
Rock Skin
A Combat Grade martial method that uses Martial Arts Energy to harden a chosen body part temporarily. 37
- Turns the activated area grayish white, rough, and hard like granite. 37
- Allows Lu Chao to block and overpower attacks with stone-like fists. 43
- Represents the endpoint of the first level of Gold-Stone's combat art. 37
- At Professional Grade, it evolves into Copper Flesh, allowing Martial Arts Energy to reinforce most of an arm and greatly increase its toughness and striking force. 99
Layered Force Punch
A force-stacking martial skill that allows Lu Chao to condense and release power beyond his normal physical limits. 99 200
- Single Stack Force can elevate his striking force into the Elite Grade range. 200 222
- He later learns to use Double, Triple, and Fourth Stack Force alongside hard-body skills and Thunder Fist. 206 330 457
- Force Lock, derived from Myriad Force Return, stores intercepted force and returns it in a massively amplified counterattack. 629
- He combines Force Lock with his accumulated force to execute a Fivefold Force counterattack against a silver-armored enemy. 553
Secret Techniques and Ranged Skills
Lu Chao acquires and develops a growing set of combat-oriented Secret Techniques. 131 138
- Fierce Howl Technique — a soundwave martial skill that can freeze or disrupt opponents momentarily. 138 224
- Needle-Throwing Art — a concealed-weapon technique that he practices to the Windbreaker realm and later uses with exceptional lethality. 92 386
- Thunder Fist — a powerful force-exertion martial skill used in conjunction with Layered Force Punch and hard-body states. 223 330
- Thunder Extremity Secret Technique — temporarily raises his power and combat output beyond his ordinary realm. 190 330
- Dark Pearl Method — a combat method he employs with Needle-Throwing Art to eliminate assassins swiftly. 386
- Force-Slashing Blade Technique — a blade art with forms including Wind-Rending Form and Mountain-Crushing Form. 569 635
Dragon Roaming Step
An intermediate movement-type martial art taught to Lu Chao by Ge Hongfeng. 286
- Uses Martial Arts Energy in the legs to achieve extraordinary speed, mobility, and changes of direction. 286
- Upon successful cultivation, increases Lu Chao's speed by approximately 30% and allows his Martial Arts Energy to circulate independently through his legs. 296
- Lets him rapidly traverse walls, elevated surfaces, and battlefield obstacles in ways that ordinary martial artists cannot replicate. 304
Myriad Force Martial Arts and Myriad Force Return
Lu Chao inherits the Starry Sky Hero legacy Myriad Force Return and later selects the complementary Myriad Force Martial Arts as his primary higher-level method. 405 335
- Myriad Force Return is a hard-body martial art that refines the body, absorbs and redirects impact, and supports the Force Lock technique. 405 629
- Myriad Force Martial Arts comprises Hundred Temperings, Thousand Hammerings, and Myriad Forgings, emphasizing compressed aura, overwhelming strength, and balanced defense. 335
- He reaches the second level through the Thousand Hammers technique and learns to release aura externally. 451
- Its completion transforms his aura into gold-flecked Myriad Force Aura, granting greater density, weight, defense, and destructive force. 677
Martial Arts Aura
After crossing the 100-point Vitality threshold, Lu Chao transforms Martial Arts Energy into Martial Arts Aura. 324
- His Gold-Stone Aura is naturally heavy and defensive, while retaining destructive impact in direct attacks. 324
- It can withstand small-caliber firearms, enhance his physical strength severalfold, melt or deform ordinary metal, and cover his body as armor. 325
- At the Peak Limit-Breaking Threshold, he can solidify it into full-body dark-brown rock armor. 408
- After mastering Myriad Force Martial Arts, the aura gains a gold-flecked quality and becomes substantially denser and more powerful. 677
