Background / History
Childhood and Yi Yi
In the primordial era of Douluo Planet, the young Dragon God discovered a mysterious presence within himself while gazing at the stars. He named it Yi Yi, explaining that “one” represented both the beginning and the end. As he grew stronger, Yi Yi gradually became capable of communicating, and their conversations beneath the stars became an important part of his life 284.
When Yi Yi identified Cosmic Law as the force opposing him, the Dragon God declared it his enemy as well. He later saved a dying dragon maiden, into whom part of Yi Yi’s aura passed. This maiden became the Dragon Clan Matriarch, his beloved companion 284 285.
Founding the God Dragon Realm
The Dragon God became the first God King of his race and established the God Dragon Realm. He rejected Cosmic Law’s offer to become its enforcer, instead opening his realm to outstanding individuals from different galaxies and pursuing its transformation into a Divine Star. His ultimate goal was to reach the tenth dimension, where Yi Yi said he could awaken 284.
The realm eventually developed serious problems, and its instability weakened the Dragon Clan Matriarch. Despite her agreement with the Dragon God not to have descendants, she gave birth to the crown prince against his wishes. Her death left him grief-stricken, while uncertainty over the realm’s future divided the Dragon Kings 223 285.
Madness, Death, and Division
During the ceremony intended to forcibly establish a Divine Star, the Time and Space Dragon Kings betrayed the Dragon God. Their interference caused a fatal mistake, and he lost control, killing dragons and gods alike. Cosmic Law’s influence over the betrayers is identified in accounts of the catastrophe 203 285 287.
Unable to accept the devastation, the Dragon God willingly allowed the Asura God to kill him. Before dying, he personally issued the decree forbidding Soul Beasts from becoming gods. His final words to Yi Yi were an apology for failing to fulfill his promise 285.
His division produced the Golden and Silver Dragon Kings. The Golden Dragon King inherited his savage side and negative emotions; the Silver Dragon King inherited his rational side and most of his memories. He expected one to devour the other and restore the Dragon God’s Bloodline, not for their bloodlines to produce a descendant together 285 293 295.
Appearance
His surviving spirit appears as a youth barely in his teens, with indistinct features and lavish nine-colored ceremonial robes. During his resurrection, this previously illusory form becomes substantially more solid 285 293.
- Childhood form: A small, chubby-cheeked dragon with pudgy claws 284.
- Remains: An enormous skeleton resting at the center of Dragon Valley 281 286.
- Divine imagery: A magnificent dragon surrounded by a nine-colored halo appears within the judgment vision experienced by his opponent 297.
Personality
The Dragon God is fiercely loyal to Yi Yi and the Dragon Clan Matriarch. He explicitly places them above the Dragon Clan and his descendant, and credits Yi Yi with making his achievements possible. His loyalty drives his defiance of Cosmic Law, but initially also makes him willing to contemplate sacrificing his descendant for Yi Yi’s sake 284 285 286 295.
His imposing past contrasts with his teasing, easily flustered behavior after meeting Lin Yuan again. He jokes about Blue’s relationship with Lin Yuan, reacts furiously to the Golden and Silver Dragon Kings’ choices, and openly cries over their rejection. Blue’s affection as his granddaughter softens him: he regrets his earlier willingness to sacrifice her and refuses to compete with her for the Dragon God Divinity 285 293 295.
Abilities & Skills
Judgment
The Dragon God possesses the Power of Judgment engraved in the Dragon Clan’s bloodline memories 297.
- Forces a True God dragon back into its original form and binds it despite its resistance.
- Exploits bloodline authority to overcome an opponent with a higher cultivation rank.
- Does not guarantee victory against every dragon opponent: the Tianlong Chief Seat withstands his challenge and physically overpowers him 297 299.
Dragon God Claw
A nine-colored claw attack that he combines with Judgment to execute a restrained enemy 297.
- Crushes a True God dragon while the resurrected Dragon God has only Divine Rank cultivation.
- Releases Dragon Power from the slain opponent, which disperses onto him and Blue.
- He teaches Blue both the claw and Judgment; she masters them within four days 297.
Elemental Authority
Known historically as the God of Judgment, he wielded lightning among his abilities. After his revival, he awakens a tenth element beyond his established nine-colored power 231 293.
- Lightning: The Treasure-Seeking Beast identifies tribulation lightning as a power the original Dragon God could wield 231.
- Creation and destruction: Their unstable balance contributed to his erosion by madness, according to the Treasure-Seeking Beast 223.
- Tenth element: Appears as intensely green energy. Its connection to emotions is Lin Yuan’s interpretation, not a confirmed name or complete explanation 293.
Spiritual Survival and Resurrection
Death does not completely erase him: his spirit remains associated with his skeleton in the Dragon Realm 281 285.
- Awakens only rarely during his long residence in the realm 285.
- States that someone at his former cultivation level is difficult to kill completely and that reincarnation remains possible 286.
- Regains a solid form after recovering the will to live 293.
Realm Protection and Cosmic Knowledge
He maintains a barrier around the Dragon Realm and understands the dangers surrounding Divine Star advancement 285 315.
- Detects outside dragons attempting to breach his barrier 285.
- Warns that Cosmic Law is infiltrating the realm and may influence Blue as it influenced the Time and Space Dragon Kings 287.
- Explains that Tang San could pursue the Divine Star level either by accepting Cosmic Law’s authority or by challenging it with the Divine Realm’s power 315.
- Rejects the claim that the Asura Divine Position should cause Tang San’s murderous mental changes, stating that a god’s mind should not be affected by their Divine Position 315.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Dragon Clan Ritual Blade — Made from his horn. He explains that Blue, as the new Dragon God, could similarly make one from her own horn rather than searching for his blade 297.
- Dragon God’s Core — Held by Gu Yuena during their reunion. Its appearance immediately intimidates the Golden Dragon King 295.
- Dragon bones and legacy — Remnants coveted by the Tianlong Chief Seat as resources for becoming the next Dragon God. The Dragon God regrets that the legacy he left to preserve his race instead helped fuel prolonged conflict 299.
- Life and Destruction Divine Positions — Positions he says he lost upon death. After resurrection, he considers reclaiming them instead of competing with Blue for the Dragon God Divinity 295.
Relationships
- Lin Yuan / Yi Yi — His closest ancient companion. He identifies Lin Yuan with the presence that accompanied him from childhood, though Lin Yuan insists that he is himself rather than simply Yi Yi. The Dragon God supports him and later remains among the few people admitted to his cultivation tent 284 285 286 287 315.
- Dragon Clan Matriarch — His beloved companion, whom he calls his elder sister. Her death devastates him; he places her alongside Yi Yi as the most important person in his heart 285 286.
- Blue / Lan Xuanyu / Little Dragon God — His descendant and reincarnation, whom he comes to cherish as his granddaughter. He refuses to take her divinity and personally teaches her Judgment and the Dragon God Claw 223 295 297.
- Gu Yuena / Silver Dragon King — His rational half and inheritor of most of his memories. He treats her as his child, but their reunion becomes a heated argument over her identity, romance, and responsibilities to Soul Beasts 285 293.
- Golden Dragon King — His savage half, sustained by negative emotions from the failed Divine Star ascension. Their reunion deteriorates when the Golden Dragon King threatens to devour him, Gu Yuena, and Blue 285 295.
- Di Tian — A loyal subordinate whom he taught and intended to make a future captain of the guards. He recognizes Di Tian’s suffering under the Silver Dragon King and remains concerned for him 203 285 294.
- Treasure-Seeking Beast — A being that lived parasitically on his body and managed immortal herbs. It attained First-Level God strength within his realm 223.
- Cosmic Law — His declared enemy. It offered him an enforcer’s position, which he rejected; its later influence helped undermine his Divine Star project 284 287.
- Tianlong Chief Seat / Jiang Weiqiang — An enemy seeking his bones and Blue’s bloodline to become the next Dragon God 299.
- Huo Yuhao — Receives his guidance about Divine Star advancement and the warning signs in Tang San’s behavior 315.
