Background / History

Shrek Academy has maintained ties with Di Tian for more than twenty thousand years. Its historical legacy is associated with the Golden Ancient Tree and Eternal Sky Tree, which witnessed Shrek’s rise, decline, and successive generations of members. 4 6

By the opening of the story, Shrek and the Tang Sect are engaged in a long-running political struggle with the Douluo Federation. Shrek publicly supports Di Tian’s divine tribulation, but requests additional observation seats, priority access to Di Tian should he become a spirit soul, and further soul-beast remains for the Tang Sect’s Ecological Warship project. 1

Shrek’s leadership sees Di Tian’s planned human transformation as a major recruitment opportunity. Elder Shu intends to bring him into the academy and turn the King of Soul Beasts into a symbol of Shrek’s “Ten-Thousand-Year Glory.” 3

Shrek’s recruitment strategy is based partly on its historical success at integrating transformed soul beasts into human society. Di Tian regards this institutional tendency with caution, believing that Shrek seeks to place its own label and interests upon every talent it recruits. 3 6

Shrek’s historical narratives emphasize seemingly impossible reversals associated with Tang San, Huo Yuhao, and Tang Wulin. Elder Shu later invokes these precedents to justify an all-out counterattack against Di Tian, particularly comparing him with the Abyssal Sage King defeated ten thousand years earlier. This comparison reflects Elder Shu’s assessment rather than an accurate measure of Di Tian’s capabilities. 121

After Di Tian gains overwhelming superiority over the Federation, Elder Shu rejects the Federation leadership’s decision to negotiate. He mobilizes the remaining Shrek and Tang Sect forces, their allies, and undercover agents within the Federation for an attack during the Star Dou Forest talks. The offensive fails, and Di Tian eliminates the forces that openly participate. 120 121 123 124 125 126

Di Tian subsequently orders retaliation against the organizations and soul master lineages that supported Shrek and the Tang Sect. Once his divine beasts are prepared, the Soul Beast Empire launches a coordinated cleansing campaign that includes Shrek Academy among its targets. The Federation publicly disavows Shrek and the Tang Sect, while Shrek’s former Elf Branch later appears under soul-beast control. 129 149 162 163

Sea God Pavilion

The Sea God Pavilion is represented by god-level figures including Elder Shu, Wang Tianyu, and Yi Zichen. Elder Shu and Wang Tianyu serve as deputy pavilion masters, while Yi Zichen holds higher authority and can directly command them. 3 5

Main Academy

The Eternal Sky Tree, the life core of the Douluo Demi-God Realm, had taken root at Shrek Academy. Shrek is described as possessing exceptional cultivation resources, educational resources, and living conditions. 6

Shrek promotes its inner court as a place where students may pursue godhood. Its curriculum teaches that reaching level 100 requires both cultivation resources and a further opportunity, with the academy presenting its history of producing gods as evidence of its advantage. 52

The academy’s interstellar-oriented syllabus includes sending students to asteroids and extraterrestrial locations for practical missions. Di Tian initially views this curriculum as a possible means of escaping the Douluo Demi-God Realm before his godhood tribulation. 25

The Eternal Sky Tree’s later fate is tied to Ah Yin’s destruction. After Tang Hao extracts her power with the Clear Sky Hammer and her existence is erased, a seed containing the remaining bloodline and Life Source Power of her former Eternal Sky Tree body survives. Di Tian gives this seed to the King of Ten Thousand Monsters, enabling his evolution into the Eternal Demon Tree. 128

Shrek Seven Devils

The title of Shrek Seven Devils is Shrek’s foremost student distinction and is presented as a path that greatly improves one’s prospects of reaching godhood. Branch-academy students may compete for the title in seven-person teams. 53

Shrek and the Tang Sect maintain undercover agents throughout the Federation system. Elder Shu activates this network during the final counterattack, seeking to commit the Federation to a war its leadership has not authorized. 121 124

Shrek sought the branch as a means of expanding its influence on Elf Planet. Its prior Senluo Branch reportedly produced graduates who publicly identified themselves as Shrek members despite not studying at Shrek’s main academy. 6

The branch initially operates from an unfinished campus. Its student dormitories are container structures placed near a transplanted ancient tree of life seed, which has not yet grown enough to house students within its trunk or branches. 37

The academy’s construction prioritized an elaborate lakeside plaza complex intended for its Sea God’s Fate matchmaking event. This left the branch’s dormitory facilities notably underdeveloped despite the favorable cultivation environment around the Life Ancient Tree. 37

By Di Tian’s later return, the former Elf Branch Academy is situated within Paradise Planet’s absorbed former Elf Planet territory and is controlled by the soul beasts rather than Shrek. 162 163

Di Tian later investigates the tree while seeking the reincarnated origins of the Life Goddess and Destruction God King. He suspects that its apparently Mortal-Level form conceals a God-Level Life Ancient Tree or super-divine artifact connected to the Life Goddess. His attempt to preserve and reveal its contents by injecting life force instead overwhelms and destroys the outer tree. 162 163

A Life Seed survives the explosion and reveals a God-Level aura as Di Tian handles and refines it. The Destruction God King’s voice then emerges, angrily accusing Di Tian of mistreating or refining the Life Goddess. 162 163

Research and Technology

Shrek and the Tang Sect jointly pursue Ecological Warship technology. Their requested soul-beast remains are intended to support this project. 1

A later objective is thought-sharing among multiple Ecological Warships, enabling hive-cluster combat. Shrek and the Tang Sect compete with the Federation over access to core technological research, though Di Tian proposes merging their warship project with the Federation’s Single Giant Mecha Project. 35 47

The biomimetic patterns used on Federation giant mechs are derived from Shrek and Tang Sect Ecological Warship technology. These patterns are therefore incorporated into the large-scale giant-mech forces deployed for experiments in the Dangerous Starfield. 63

The Federation, Shrek, and Tang Sect eventually combine Ecological Warship technology with Federation mothership technology to construct the first mothership-class Ecological Warship, the Tianlong Ship.
