History

Mu Chen and his wife, Yuan Bao'er, were longtime friends of Xu Yue's parents. When Xu Yue's parents departed for the Blood God Legion, they entrusted their son to the couple; Mu Chen subsequently raised him alongside his daughter, Mu Xi. 1

As president of the Eastsea City Blacksmith Association, Mu Chen conducted Xu Yue's martial soul awakening at home with a rare-metal awakening formation. He immediately recognized that Xu Yue's expected Sun martial soul had undergone an abnormal mutation, then identified Eden's Star's innate gravity domain and its ability to amplify weaker star-type martial souls. Aware that this power would attract attention from star-martial-soul families, he warned Xu Yue to conceal it. 1 3

After Xu Yue awakened innate full soul power and the Truth Gem as a second martial soul, Mu Chen arranged a visit to the Spirit Pagoda. Mu Chen accepted Xu Yue as his blacksmithing disciple after discovering that Eden's Star granted ultimate strength and ultimate earth attributes. Later, Mu Chen became the first successful recipient of the Blood Essence Martial Path's initial ring-condensation stage under Xu Yue's supervision.
