Li Xueran first appears as “Miss Liu,” Tang Leiyue’s seemingly pampered new concubine. She infiltrates Tang Leiyue’s household to steal from his study, where Qin Yao catches her; their confrontation reveals that she possesses concealed martial skill rather than being an ordinary concubine. 78 89

Before arriving in the secular world, Li Xueran came from the cultivation world. A realmstorm caused her to fall into the mortal realm and severely reduced her cultivation, leaving her to survive through disguises, theft, and swindling while attempting to recover her former strength. 99 110 145

She later joins the Snow Pine Caravan under further disguises, including those of a noblewoman and a clerk. She recognizes Qin Yao as the man who encountered her during the Tang Village theft and becomes determined to probe his concealed identity and abilities. 89 93

While traveling with the caravan, Li Xueran repeatedly singles out Qin Yao and his family with food, water, candy, game, clothing, and gifts. Her attention provokes Zhao Tianxiong’s jealousy, which she deliberately exploits to test Qin Yao’s composure and hidden strength. 90 92 93

The ability’s backlash petrifies Li Xueran as well. Before becoming a statue, she gives Qin Yao a Water Moon False Meridian Pill, information about the Eight Delicacies for Cleansing the Sinews, a compass, and a booklet concerning spacetime laws. She reveals the name Hu Xueyou and leaves open the possibility of meeting Qin Yao again. 145 146

Qin Yao subsequently carries and protects her statue while traveling with his family. To prevent damage and avoid attention drawn by its lifelike beauty, he wraps it in red cloth. Much later, Qin Yao recalls Hu Xueyou’s assessment that even highly skilled martial artists of the secular world would likely qualify only as menial disciples in the cultivation world. She is also observant and knowledgeable, recognizing unusual martial arts, medicinal materials, and the implications of Qin Yao’s damaged foundation. 116 126 136 145

Her concern for Qin Yao is genuine enough that she considers using a dangerous move to protect him during the bandit attack and ultimately spends the Petrifying Eye’s severe backlash to save him at the black market. 110 144 However, she also displays a calculating interest in wealth and a willingness to manipulate others for her own purposes. 118 127
