Background

Li Ming was mortally wounded when King Piccolo’s minions attacked a village. As his soul began to dissipate, his main system unbound itself and activated a backup Talent System, which granted and automatically merged the High-Level Saiyan Bloodline talent into him. His destroyed leg regenerated, and his body transformed into a muscular Saiyan form with a tail, heightened hunger, and rudimentary ki use 1.

After killing King Piccolo with a single punch, Li Ming accompanied Son Goku to Korin Tower and Kami’s Lookout. He rejected Kami’s proposal to remove his tail, instead choosing weighted suppression training to master his immense and rapidly growing Saiyan energy 2 3.

He later trained under Master Roshi’s guidance, used Dr. Brief’s gravity chamber to strengthen himself, and left Earth in a modified spaceship to pursue greater power in space 4 5 11.
