Primal Awakening

His voice had dropped into a hoarse rumble, like sandpaper scraping over rock, every word carrying the scent of a beast.

It was no longer an ordinary voice, but more like a growl surging up from his chest.

His body began to change wildly.

Muscles writhed and swelled beneath his skin. Dark blue veins surfaced one by one, like the totems of an ancient tribe.

His bones crackled with a tooth-aching sound. This was not some balanced superhuman enhancement, but utterly uncontrolled, savage growth—his shoulders rose high, his back muscles bulged, and his limbs became disproportionately thick.

Most outrageous of all was his hair.

Starting from the roots, his originally jet-black hair was gradually devoured by an intense, eerie emerald green.

The green spread so quickly it was visible to the naked eye, like a waterfall flowing in reverse. Wherever it passed, his hair turned stiff and straight as steel needles.

In less than three seconds, his formerly wild long hair had become a deep jade green, dancing in the wind like burning flames.

His eyes were even more terrifying. His pupils shrank to pinpoints, like molten metal, shining with a blinding brilliance.

His irises were completely flooded with emerald green, gold and green intertwining into heterochromia.

The instant his eyes opened, the surrounding air seemed to compress. Within ten meters, shattered stones floated into the air, completely defying gravity, then silently crumbled into powder one after another.

His height shot from 1.9 meters to 2.3 meters, making him look like a giant stepped straight out of myth.

A pale green aura rose from his skin. It looked nothing like the stable flames of a Super Saiyan; it was more like boiling water, constantly rolling and erupting, each surge twisting the surrounding space.

His aura changed as well.

If Broly had been like a dormant volcano before, then now he was a cluster of supervolcanoes on the verge of eruption.

Violent energy waves radiated outward from him. The ground split apart, and rocks collapsed.

Even Beerus, several kilometers away, could not help narrowing his eyes slightly.

The hem of his purple robe was genuinely blown upward from the front this time.

"This is..." The laziness vanished from Beerus's face.

He uncrossed his arms and leaned forward. For the first time, those half-lidded cat eyes held a serious look.

"The Legendary Super Saiyan... no, this feeling is even more primal than the legend."

Broly slowly rose into the air.

He did not jump. He was truly floating.

The ground beneath his feet had been roasted into magma, red liquid bubbling and churning.

He raised his right hand and clenched it into a fist, his knuckles cracking as crisply as popping beans.

Then he looked at Beerus.

Almost no reason remained in those gold-and-green heterochromatic eyes. There was only the purest, most primal—fighting spirit.

"The Legendary Super Saiyan." Whis floated in midair, the staff in his hand giving off a faint glow. His tone carried a trace of barely perceptible amazement. "No, it should be called the 'Humanoid Great Ape' form. This is the complete fusion of the Great Ape power buried deepest within Saiyan blood and the wrathful will of a Super Saiyan. Mr. Broly... is truly awe-inspiring."

Beerus did not respond.

His purple-black pupils narrowed into slits as he stared fixedly at the surging emerald aura around Broly.

This aura was no longer merely leaking energy. It seemed alive.

Every tongue of flame twisted and roared through the air, burning fine black cracks into the surrounding space.

Broly's already massive body swelled once more.

His muscles rose like small mountains, veins snaking beneath his skin. His golden long hair danced wildly within the aura, and the tips even faintly glimmered with a dark red light like a Great Ape's mane.

But the most terrifying thing was still that energy.

It surged upward tenfold, twentyfold, fiftyfold.

The roar of its explosive growth was like countless stars erupting at once. Vampa's already thin atmosphere was ripped to shreds, while entire layers of the surface collapsed.

By the time his aura finally stabilized, the ground beneath Broly had become a lava lake over a thousand meters wide. He floated above it like a God of Destruction walking out of myth.

Whis raised a hand, and a pale blue screen lit up, data streaming across it like a waterfall.

He murmured, "He has already reached the threshold of a quasi-God of Destruction."

"Interesting." Beerus's lips slowly curled upward. He smiled like a child who had discovered a new toy, and like a savage beast that had caught the scent of blood.

He stretched his body. Purple destruction energy seeped from his pores like mist, condensing into a wavering halo behind him. "Then let me see just how hard this beast of yours... can bite!"

The moment he finished speaking, Broly's figure blurred.

It was not teleportation. He was simply so fast that he tore space apart.

At his original position, the surface of the lava lake exploded into a vacuum crater several hundred meters wide. Meanwhile, Broly himself had already ripped through the sky, leaving behind a burning emerald trail across Vampa's dark red heavens.

He was at least five times faster than before!

Beerus had not even had time to draw another breath before Broly's fist smashed toward him like a meteor.

Layers of emerald energy crystals covered the fist, shattering space like glass wherever it passed.

The God of Destruction instinctively raised his arms to block, crossing his elbows in front of his chest as purple destruction energy condensed into a diamond-shaped shield before his forearms.

BOOM—!!!

At the moment of impact, there was no sound.

Or rather, the sound had been replaced by something even more terrifying—centered on the two of them, a translucent spherical shockwave erupted outward. Wherever it passed, Vampa's surface rose like ocean waves, rock tsunamis thousands of meters high surging into the sky.

Beerus felt a long-forgotten numb ache shoot through his arm. His body slid backward against his will, his feet dragging two burning trails of white vapor through the air. He slid several kilometers before barely steadying himself.

"Oh?" Genuine surprise finally flashed through Beerus's eyes.

He lowered his gaze to his forearm—the light shield condensed from Destruction energy was already covered in spiderweb cracks.

Broly gave him no chance to catch his breath.

His right fist had just been blocked when his left elbow swept in like a battle-axe, its pointed tip tearing through the air with a shriek like a wailing ghost.

Beerus swiftly twisted aside. The elbow strike grazed past his chest, and its residual force sheared a solitary distant peak cleanly in half.
