Background / History

Vampa was an isolated gray planet at the edge of Universe 7's North Galaxy, orbiting star number 94. No civilization, trade route, or detectable signal existed within a hundred light-years; exploratory probes classified its environment as extinction-level. The planet measured roughly 3,000 kilometers in diameter and bore rust-colored oxidized mineral deposits, jagged rift valleys, and a thin atmosphere. 1

Its extreme conditions made it a de facto prison world. Galactic prison administrators exiled criminals there because survival was considered worse than a death sentence. Forty-one years before Age 780, King Vegeta sent the newborn Broly and his father Paragus to Vampa, fearing Broly's potential as the Legendary Super Saiyan. 1

Broly endured forty-one years on Vampa. The wreckage of the ship that carried him and Paragus became irreparable, leaving them stranded; Paragus later died, leaving Broly alone. During his isolation, Broly killed 12,000 beasts and rose to become the planet's dominant predator. 2 3 8

Broly attempted to escape by enclosing himself in an energy barrier containing compressed air, launching into space, and using short-range space jumps. Oxygen loss and energy depletion forced him to return to Vampa. 3 4 5 6

After Broly unleashed his sealed power, the eruption pierced the atmosphere, vaporized meteoroids, distorted nearby space, and devastated Vampa's surface. Beerus and Whis traced the Saiyan energy signature to the planet and arrived to investigate. 10 12 19

The ensuing battle between Broly and Beerus progressively destroyed Vampa: its atmosphere was shredded, its crust cracked, magma erupted across the surface, and planetary fragments were annihilated in orbit. Whis halted the fight when the surrounding space became critically unstable, warning that continued combat could collapse the local spatial structure. 35 37 39 41

Broly departed Vampa with Beerus and Whis after securing a promise that his fate would remain his own after the Tournament of Power. By the time of the journey through Whis's dimensional passage, Vampa's destruction was only a distant cloud of light. 43 44

Appearance

Vampa was a small, barren world of dark-red and gray stone, marked by enormous fissures, volcanic terrain, barren mountains, and cratered wastelands. Its surface was scarred by oxidized minerals and, later, catastrophic battle damage. 1 15 16

• Wind-Howling Giant Bird — A giant bird with a 50-meter wingspan, scimitar-like beak, and visual range of ten kilometers. 1
