Earth's Current Situation

"So transforming into Super Saiyan 4 requires a tail! But Vegeta and I don't have tails anymore. What's going on?"

Goku was utterly confused.

"Once the power of the humanoid form surpasses that of the Great Ape form, the tail will no longer grow back."

Gogeta explained.

"So now, only little Gohan can grow a tail."

"Huh??"

Goku was a little disappointed. After seeing the Super Saiyan 4 form, he wanted to try transforming too.

"If you can't grow a tail naturally, you can use external means. Aren't there still Dragon Balls on Earth?"

Gogeta's words instantly brought Goku back to life.

"That's right, there are still Dragon Balls on Earth!"

Goku said excitedly.

Vegeta was tempted as well. As long as he became a Super Saiyan 4 before Kakarot, he would be able to surpass Kakarot.

Thinking of this, Vegeta clenched his fist excitedly.

After that, the group began training inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.

Elsewhere, the two Bulmas were discussing something.

"Amazing. To think you came up with such an incredible machine—and even drew up the blueprints. Just as expected of me."

Bulma looked thoroughly proud.

Before her lay a stack of blueprints. That was right—they were the blueprints for a time machine.

"Even with the blueprints, it still isn't complete. There are some problems that need solving, and I need your help."

Future Bulma spoke to Bulma. She knew that her younger self was just as gifted and could help her finish building the time machine.

With Bulma's help, the time machine might appear earlier than it had in the original story. Although there was no longer any need to use it to travel back to the past, Future Bulma still wanted to create it. It was the culmination of so many years of her effort—how could she simply give up?

The two began their grand undertaking of researching the time machine.

As for Tights, she traveled everywhere gathering information about the androids. After witnessing this tragic world, she desperately wanted to turn its story into a novel.

So Tights flew around in an airplane, searching for survivors and telling them that the androids had been defeated.

But no one believed her, because the cunning androids had used this trick before—luring out people in hiding with lies, then brutally killing them.

Yet Tights did not lose heart. She continued traveling from place to place, spreading the news that the androids had been eliminated.

Then, in a certain region, people discovered fragments of the androids that Vegeta had blasted into dust. At last, they believed the androids had been killed. The news spread rapidly, passing from one person to ten, then from ten to a hundred. Before long, every survivor on Earth knew. People poured out of their shelters and cheered, their cries resounding through the heavens.

The rising sun seemed to be celebrating this hard-won peace as well.

Now, in Bulma's home, the newly revived Krillin, Piccolo, Tien Shinhan, Master Roshi, and the others were discussing what to do next.

They had previously visited Grand Kai's Planet and experienced its martial arts atmosphere, which had left a deep impression on them. Back when they were dead, they had not thought much about it. But now that they had been revived, and with Earth suffering one disaster after another, they wanted everyone on Earth to understand and learn martial arts, turning Earth into a planet similar to Grand Kai's Planet.

First there had been King Piccolo ruling the world, then the Saiyans invading Earth, Frieza's resurgence, and now the androids' rampage. Earth had endured far too many disasters.

Earthlings had to gain the ability to protect themselves. They were not expected to defeat the invaders, since their enemies only grew stronger each time.

Every alien was a monster. At first, Krillin, Tien Shinhan, and the others could barely keep up, but they gradually fell behind until, in the end, they could only watch Goku grow stronger and stronger.

Yamcha had accepted reality and begun to give up on himself. Perhaps Bulma had seen through Yamcha because of that, which was why she broke up with him. Her man did not have to be the strongest, but he could not lose his fighting spirit or abandon his dreams. And Vegeta happened to appear before Bulma at just that time.

Back then, Vegeta had not fallen into despair because Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan. On the contrary, he trained even harder, though he was always grumbling and cursing.

Moreover, his attitude toward Bulma was the domineering sort. When Bulma first met Yamcha, he too had been brimming with confidence—spirited, overbearing, and arrogant. Bulma had been drawn to that side of Yamcha at first sight. But at some point, Yamcha changed. He became timid and hesitant, even appearing weak when facing her. In the end, the two broke up peacefully, and Vegeta got the benefit of it.

But Tien Shinhan had not changed. He continued training diligently. During the Majin Buu era, Tien Shinhan was still cultivating deep in the mountains, yet whenever Earth faced a crisis, he would step forward without hesitation. It could be said that Tien Shinhan was Earth's finest martial artist.

Although Krillin had also accepted reality, he did not give up because of it. He still trained hard and quietly did what little he could. By the Super era, Krillin chose to become a police officer, continuing to silently protect Earth.

During the Tournament of Power, all of Earth's warriors participated—except Yamcha. Perhaps that was why. They could all see that Yamcha's martial artist's heart had already shattered.

That was all for later.

The most urgent matter was rebuilding their homes first, then promoting martial arts.

As for how martial arts should be developed, they did not yet have any good ideas.

Inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, Three months had already passed inside.

Goku was training the two Gohans. Little Gohan needed to build a solid foundation, so his strength had not increased by much, but his battle power had still risen to just over ten thousand. Goku taught him techniques, the control and use of ki, and some energy-wave skills. Even so, little Gohan's strength had increased tremendously—dozens of times greater than before.

Future Gohan studied alongside them as well. After all, he had never truly received proper training; he had figured everything out little by little on his own. If Future Gohan had built a solid foundation, those two androids would have been no match for him at all.

During the Cell era, Gohan had gone from being unable to transform into a Super Saiyan to reaching Super Saiyan 2 in less than a year. Part of that leap was due to Gohan's outstanding talent, while the other part was the foundation Goku had laid for him. Goku had taken plenty of detours along his own path, so when teaching Gohan, he could help him avoid those detours and advance by leaps and bounds.

Having someone forge the path ahead for you was an entirely different matter from blazing the trail yourself.

Future Gohan had now reached full-power Super Saiyan 1. He was only one step away from transforming into Super Saiyan 2.

Vegeta, meanwhile, was teaching Trunks. He had high hopes for his son and wanted him to surpass Kakarot's son. But Trunks especially idolized Future Gohan, which irritated Vegeta immensely. All he could do was intensify Trunks's training. Now, Trunks was one step away from reaching full-power Super Saiyan 1.

While training Trunks, Vegeta continued cultivating himself. He had already mastered the power of Super Saiyan 2 and progressed some distance beyond it.

Gogeta, meanwhile, was familiarizing himself with Super Saiyan 4. Benefiting from Vegito's talent, Gogeta cultivated at an astonishing pace. He had become proficient in the Super Saiyan 4 transformation and was already halfway there. With the other half completed, he would reach full-power Super Saiyan 4.
