Two Trunks

"Thank you so much, Mr. Gogeta."

Trunks could tell that if it had not been for Gogeta, there was no way he could have been revived.

"Haha, if you really want to thank me, just treat me to a big meal."

Gogeta joked with a smile.

"Let's go back first. I'll make you all a feast."

Bulma took Trunks by the hand and spoke to Gogeta.

Under the setting sun, the shadows of the three of them stretched long behind them.

After returning to the basement, Bulma began cooking while Gogeta and Trunks chatted at the dining table.

"Mr. Gogeta, if you could defeat that monster, you must be incredibly strong!"

Trunks recalled the green-skinned monster that had killed him.

"That monster had several different kinds of ki inside him. One of them even belonged to Gohan."

Trunks had assumed Cell was the one who had reduced Earth to this state.

"You mean Cell. After killing you, that guy took your time machine back to the past. The one wreaking havoc across Earth is another guy, and he's even stronger than Cell."

"Perfect Cell was only at the level of Super Saiyan 2. He only reached that level after surviving near death thanks to Saiyan cells. When he killed you, he was still in his first form. Trunks, you were just too weak."

"Still, if he had stayed here a little longer, he might have been controlled by Babidi or killed by Majin Buu."

Speaking of Cell, Gogeta recalled Cell's storyline. That guy was pretty capable. Out of all those bosses, only Cell and Kid Buu had learned Instant Transmission just by seeing it once. If Cell had not died, he probably could have become even stronger.

In this timeline, Majin Buu had been released just after Trunks died, and then Gogeta arrived here. So Trunks's body was still on Earth, and his soul had not yet reached Heaven.

"Super Saiyan 2? Is that a Super Saiyan?"

Trunks was a little confused. He only knew about Super Saiyans. What was Super Saiyan 2?

"You can think of it as a further transformation of Super Saiyan. I'll be staying here for a while and giving you some guidance."

Gogeta planned to enter the Hyperbolic Time Chamber once more. His mission here was already complete, and he had received the reward. He wanted to familiarize himself with God Ki inside and see whether he could transform into Super Saiyan God or Super Saiyan Blue.

"Then Trunks will be in your care, Gogeta."

Bulma had heard their conversation as well. Naturally, she was delighted to hear that Gogeta would guide Trunks. The stronger Trunks became, the less likely he would be to die.

After they had eaten and drunk their fill, Gogeta brought Trunks to Kami's Lookout.

However, when Gogeta arrived at the Lookout, it had already been wrecked beyond recognition. The inside of the temple had been destroyed.

There was no helping it. He could not give Trunks a cheat anymore, so they could only train outside.

Several days passed like this.

That day, as usual, Gogeta created a clone to guide Trunks while his main body studied God Ki. After several days of research, Gogeta was already able to use God Ki at a basic level. It was similar to when Goku had been knocked back into his normal state during his battle with Beerus, then transformed into a Super Saiyan again—his body had already adapted to God Ki. The next step was transforming into Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue.

Just as the two were busy training, a time machine suddenly appeared near the basement.

In an instant, Gogeta opened his eyes. Trunks and Gogeta's clone also stopped fighting. All of them had sensed it—that ki identical to Trunks's.

"This ki? It's exactly the same as mine?"

Trunks was a little shocked, but he immediately guessed what had happened. A version of himself from another timeline had used a time machine to come to his timeline. But why had the other him come here?

With that question in mind, Trunks went to investigate, and Gogeta went with him. Gogeta more or less knew where this Trunks had come from.

Before long, the two returned to the basement. Bulma was chatting and laughing with another Trunks and Mai. When she saw them return, Bulma happily called out to them.

"Trunks, Gogeta, you're back!"

Bulma was especially happy right now. Not only had her son been revived, but now another son had shown up, even bringing along a daughter-in-law. It looked like she would be a grandmother before long!!!

At that moment, the two visitors from the future saw Trunks and Gogeta return. When Older Trunks saw Gogeta, his eyes instantly widened!!!

"Vegito??"

Older Trunks could hardly believe it. He was seeing that face filled with invincibility again. He had actually encountered the unrivaled Vegito here. How was that possible? Could it be that Mr. Goku and his father from this timeline had not died? No, that was impossible!! And he had clearly set the time for before Babidi and Dabura arrived on Earth, yet he had just heard his mother say that someone had already defeated Majin Buu and Babidi. What exactly had gone wrong? Damn it, he was going to have to use his brain!!

Gogeta had now confirmed that Older Trunks was the one who had returned to the past after the Zamasu arc. But Gogeta was puzzled as well. Weren't the two of them supposed to return to the past and create a new timeline? How had they ended up here?

Gogeta asked the system in his mind. After all, he could not travel through time himself. Every time, he had relied on the system's power to open a temporal passage.

"It's Gogeta, not Vegito, Trunks."

Bulma reminded Older Trunks, while Trunks explained as well.

"Mr. Gogeta also came from a parallel timeline. He's Mom's brother-in-law, our uncle by marriage."

"Not Vegito? But..."

Older Trunks still found it hard to believe. Gogeta and Vegito had the exact same face, and even their aura was identical. That kind of aura was not something one could imitate so easily.

"I don't know why I look exactly like Vegito either. It's hard to explain."

Gogeta was a little troubled. It was fine when he met someone who didn't know Vegito, but when he ran into someone who had seen Vegito before, he had no idea how to explain it.

"You know Vegito too?"

Older Trunks was shocked again. Vegito wasn't someone who could just appear whenever he pleased!

"Of course. He's the fusion of Son Goku and Vegeta!"

"I saw him in another timeline."

Gogeta told a small lie. In any case, they had no way of knowing, so he could say whatever he wanted.

"Lord Beerus said that traveling through time so casually is a serious crime."

Older Trunks told Gogeta about the terrifying consequences that time travel could cause.

"Don't worry, Trunks. I won't cause a new timeline to be created. Relax."

What a joke. As a transmigrator with a system, what was wrong with crossing through time? The system would clean up after him. If anything really went wrong, he could just go argue with the system.
