The Son Goku who had caused it all stood before him again, still as powerful as ever. One punch had sent him flying halfway around the Earth. The tenfold Kamehameha, Son Goku's strongest finishing move, had been something the doctor made him take head-on. Luckily, he absorbed it through sheer, astonishing willpower. After that, even Son Goku was no longer a match for him.
Then his sister, Android 18, stepped forward and stood in front of Son Goku. She was willing to detonate her own bomb to protect him. That annoying doctor kept barking orders from the sidelines, so he sent him flying into the sky with a single move.
Only then did he understand why he had felt so empty. The power to protect someone was truly enviable. But it was already too late to undo anything. The little bald one had been killed by him, and the Earth had been devastated beyond recognition.
In the end, he wanted to bring this pitiful life to an end. He pretended to absorb his sister's insignificant power, deliberately exposing an opening so that Son Goku could finish him off. This, too, was his final protection of the only family he had left.
Son Goku was both the beginning and the end.
If there was another life, he wanted to understand the appeal of ordinary human life.
This was the ending of GT Android 17. Many people criticized Super Android 17 as a boss, saying his introduction was too abrupt, his characterization incomplete, and that he lacked emotional development.
If they could have portrayed Android 17's psychological changes from the Z era to the GT era, along with some memories of Android 16 and memories of being with his sister, it would have been perfect.
In summary, GT's boss designs were all excellent, but sixty-four episodes were too few. There was not enough character development, making everything feel abrupt. The other characters also had very little screen time and were basically just there to make up the numbers, with Goku carrying the whole show.
When fighting the Shadow Dragons, the others should have dealt with the weaker ones, while Goku and Vegeta handled One-Star Dragon and Four-Star Dragon. That would have made much more sense. Don't make Goku do everything alone, only to use everyone else as batteries at the end.
Back to reality.
Gogeta prepared to go find Tights. Tights would definitely be interested in going on a trip. That was right—in Gogeta's eyes, it was simply a vacation.
As for Goku and Vegeta's Super Saiyan 4 transformations, there was nothing to worry about with Vegeta around. Once Vegeta transformed, he would be able to handle Goku if he lost his mind. There would be no problem.
This time, Gogeta only planned to go with Tights. Ever since they had had Ais, it had been a long time since the two of them had spent time alone. They would treat this as a honeymoon.
Meanwhile, Goku and Vegeta.
The two spent half a day gathering the Dragon Balls and summoned Shenron.
"Shenron, can you make Vegeta and me grow our tails back?"
Goku shouted at Shenron.
"That wish poses no problem. Are you sure you wish for it to be granted?"
Shenron's majestic voice rang out.
"Wait, I'll go ask Gohan whether he wants his tail back too."
Goku used Instant Transmission to arrive beside Gohan.
At the time, Gohan was telling Videl about things that had happened in the past—Master Roshi, Demon King Piccolo, Korin Tower, Kami, and that World Martial Arts Tournament.
When he saw Goku appear, he asked in confusion, "Dad, is something wrong?"
At this point in time, shouldn't his dad have been training with Uncle Vegeta?
Goku briefly explained Super Saiyan 4 and asked Gohan whether he wanted to get his tail back as well.
Gohan thought it over carefully. He felt that having another source of power would be good, so he decided to grow his tail back too.
Goku hurried back again. He could not keep Shenron waiting too long.
After returning to Vegeta's side, Goku made his wish to Shenron, asking for himself, Vegeta, and Gohan to all grow tails.
Duan~
Shenron's eyes lit up, and Goku's wish was granted.
A tail grew behind Goku, Vegeta, and Gohan.
Over at Gohan's place, Videl asked curiously, "Gohan, what exactly is your family? How do you have tails?"
"My dad is a Saiyan. He came from another planet, and Saiyans are born with tails. I had one when I was little too, but after it was cut off, it never grew back."
Gohan said, "Gohan, your dad is an alien?!"
Videl was shocked. Gohan's father was actually an alien—so that meant Gohan was one too!
Gohan quickly explained, "SaIyans and Earthlings are actually the same. Saiyans are just naturally stronger. Half the reason I'm so strong is because of my Saiyan bloodline."
"My mom is a genuine Earthling, so you don't need to worry about whether we can get married."
Videl asked again, "What is this Super Saiyan 4 thing?"
"Super Saiyan 4 is a transformation that makes you much stronger."
"Like this!"
Gohan stood up and transformed into a Super Saiyan, leaving Videl staring in stunned silence.
Videl had never seen Gohan like this before. His hair was golden, his pupils emerald green, and his gaze was filled with coldness.
However, Gohan relaxed his brow and returned to normal, becoming his innocent self again.
"This is the Super Saiyan transformation. Super Saiyan 4 is a further transformation that makes you even stronger."
Gohan even gestured with his hands, describing what Super Saiyan 4 looked like.
Gohan already looked handsome as a Super Saiyan. Hearing that Super Saiyan 4 was even more handsome, Videl found herself looking forward to seeing Gohan transform into Super Saiyan 4.
So Videl said, "Then hurry up and train! When you transform into Super Saiyan 4, you have to let me see it!!"
Then Videl went out and flew her plane home.
Just then, Goku brought Vegeta before Gohan with Instant Transmission and said, "Come on, Gohan. Let's train in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber at Kami's Lookout. That way, we won't have to worry about transforming into Great Apes and damaging Earth."
Goku grabbed Gohan by the shoulder and used Instant Transmission to arrive at Kami's Lookout. Piccolo was sitting in meditation. Sensing the arrival of the three, he stopped training and opened his eyes. At a glance, he saw the tails behind them and understood what they intended to do.
"You want to train and transform into Super Saiyan 4, right?"
"That's right. And I have to thank you, Piccolo, for telling me about Gogeta training to become Super Saiyan 4."
Goku stepped forward and patted Piccolo on the shoulder, smiling brightly.
"Then get going!"
Piccolo also wanted to see how these three differed from Gogeta in Super Saiyan 4.
Goku and the others quickly reached the bottom of the Lookout and entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber.
Goku remarked, "When I was little, I came in here once. I only stayed for a month, but I almost went crazy."
Gohan also said, "When I was little, I trained here for a long time with Uncle Gogeta, Dad from another timeline, and Uncle Vegeta."
Vegeta was the only one who had never been here.
Vegeta walked outside, then turned back to Goku and Gohan.
"Let me transform first. Otherwise, if you two lose your minds, I won't be able to handle you. Besides, it'll be trouble if the exit gets destroyed."
After saying that, Vegeta flew a little farther away and began trying to transform.
Goku and Gohan hid inside, avoiding the Artificial Moon Vegeta created.
