Background / History

Ye Guyi was pursued in the Jingyang Mountains by three evil soul masters, who recognized her Holy Angel Martial Soul as a threat to their kind. Poison had corroded a leg wound to the bone, and demonic sound attacks had nearly broken her holy-light barrier; despite this, she refused to surrender. 72

Yan Hongchen and Xiao Hongchen intervened after discovering her. Yan purified the poison and healed her wounds, while Xiao Hongchen used a Soul Tool bombardment to eliminate one attacker. Restored enough to fight, Ye Guyi used Holy Spirit Slash to kill the woman wielding the corrupted Nine-Heart Begonia, contributing to the group's first killing battle. 72 73

She accepted the brothers' invitation to Bright Capital and stayed at the Hongchen Duke's Estate. There, she revealed her intention to avenge her deceased parents by eliminating evil soul masters. Yan urged her not to confront the Holy Spirit Cult recklessly, instead offering support and future cooperation against it. 73 76 77

To avoid exposure in Bright Capital, Ye Guyi concealed both her appearance and Holy Angel aura. She swore upon her Martial Soul to protect Yan Hongchen's secrets after he revealed his twin martial souls and taught her a cultivation method. Their powers subsequently showed signs of resonance. 77 79
