The three robbers stopped by Shirai Kuroko looked at one another, exchanged glances, then broke into wanton, harsh, unpleasant laughter.

"A little brat actually showed up. Is Judgment that short-handed now?"

"Alright, little girl, if you don't scram, you're going to get hurt!" One of the fat men waved his hand disdainfully as he spoke, launching a punch straight at Kuroko's face.

The instant before the fist could touch her cheek, the girl slipped along the side of the incoming punch like a nimble cat. Her expression remained calm and fearless as she effortlessly evaded the blow, speaking indifferently.

"Such low-grade lines."

Borrowing the robber's forward momentum, the girl's slender hand gave him another push. She stomped hard on the top of his foot and shoved him away in one smooth motion, causing the fat man's entire body to flip over before he crashed heavily onto the ground and passed out.

Only then did Kuroko's distinctive voice continue.

"They're the prelude to getting yourself killed."

"Bastard!?" Seeing their companion get taken down so easily in a single exchange, the remaining two robbers finally began taking the Judgment girl before them seriously.

"That was amazing!" Saten Ruiko exclaimed, her little mouth hanging open in astonishment.

"As expected of Kuroko~" Misaka Mikoto praised proudly, seeming deeply pleased that Kuroko had become so capable.

"I told you, you can't go out now." Uiharu Kazari grabbed the young female guide, hurriedly stopping her dangerous action.

"But..." The guide's face was full of anxiety as she tried to struggle free from Uiharu's grip.

"What happened?" Misaka Mikoto, drawn over by the commotion, asked.

"A child is missing. He said he was going back to the bus to get something he left behind," the guide explained anxiously.

"Then Uiharu and I..." Misaka Mikoto began to suggest, only for Saten Ruiko to cut her off.

"I-I'll help too." Seeing the determination in Saten Ruiko's eyes, Misaka Mikoto smiled and nodded.

"Alright. Then let's split up and look for him."

"Yes!" Saten Ruiko and Uiharu Kazari answered together. The four of them immediately began searching around the buses for any trace of the child.

Meanwhile, Rod lounged against the back of his seat, watching Shirai Kuroko effortlessly pin the fire-user to the ground, leaving him unable to move an inch.

"If she transferred just one needle into his brain or heart, that guy would be finished. Even putting one in his thigh would be enough to take away his ability to move. Shirai Kuroko really is a champion of justice, huh~" Rod casually remarked, an ice pop stick from one he had just finished still hanging from the corner of his mouth.

"Huh? Where did you come from? Whatever, get over here." The one remaining robber was retreating toward the vehicle his group had parked, when he ran into a brat who had suddenly popped out of the bushes.

Whether something had gone wrong in his head or not, the guy actually intended to take a hostage. Robbing a bank was already a serious crime, and now he was piling crime on top of crime. Was he trying to spend the rest of his life in prison?

"Who are you!?" The boy's childish voice was mixed with confusion and fear. He tried to struggle free, but it was useless; the robber easily dragged him forward.

"No!?" Saten Ruiko suddenly rushed in from behind and grabbed the boy, making the robber's movements stall. The thwarted robber viciously shouted at Saten Ruiko.

"Bastard, let go!?" The commotion quickly drew everyone's attention, and they all turned toward Saten Ruiko.

When the robber found that he still could not drag the boy away, his embarrassment turned to rage. Just as he raised his foot to kick Saten Ruiko in the face, a figure abruptly appeared before him. All he felt was something cold pressed directly against his forehead.

That icy sensation made the robber freeze at once, not daring to make another move.

Cold sweat slid down his temple. A silver-white handgun was pointed at his forehead, Rod holding it there as the situation instantly reversed.

Everyone stared blankly for a moment, then widened their eyes in shock, unable to say anything.

"Oi, don't be in such a hurry." Rod spoke lazily to the robber, the ice pop stick still dangling from the corner of his mouth.

That unconcerned attitude only made the robber more terrified. He hurriedly raised both hands, afraid that one wrong move would make the other man send him to his grave.

"A g-g-gun!?" Uiharu Kazari clutched her head with both hands and screamed in panic.

Only after those words did everyone snap back to their senses.

"Hey, mister!? Be careful, or I'll arrest you for illegal possession of a firearm!" Shirai Kuroko shouted at Rod as she hurried toward him without slowing down.

"It's just a toy gun. Don't worry." Rod pulled the trigger. A BB pellet shot out, and the robber felt a sharp pain on his forehead, clutching it as he dropped to one knee.

Humiliation and rage quickly spread through him. He had actually been scared by a toy gun. In a heated rush, the robber sprang to his feet, clenched his right fist, and threw a heavy punch straight at Rod's face.

"Bang!" A tremendous impact rang out. Everyone instinctively looked toward the source of the sound, only to see the robber embedded in the nearby wall like a framed painting. A deep fist mark had been sunken into the center of his face, and he had clearly lost consciousness.

"So... strong~" Saten Ruiko murmured blankly.

"Oh~ Nice control. He didn't explode." Rod flexed his hand and remarked with feeling. If he had used a little more force, there would have been brains splattering everywhere.

At those words, a vein bulged on Shirai Kuroko's forehead. She slapped Rod's hand away and shouted.

"What do you mean, nice control? I told you ordinary citizens shouldn't interfere. Just leave everything to Judgment."

"Rather than worrying about something so trivial, shouldn't you be paying more attention to that robber who's already trying to escape?" Ignoring the furious little girl, Rod pointed to the fat robber, who had awakened from his faint and climbed into the white car to make a getaway.

"Uh..." Shirai Kuroko's cheeks flushed red, clearly embarrassed by how thoroughly that had come back to bite her.

"Hey!? Move out of the way! Are you trying to die!? I won't hold back!" The fat robber snarled viciously when a short-haired girl blocked his escape route.

The car accelerated and charged forward. Blue electric arcs flickered around the girl standing in its path—it was Misaka Mikoto.

"Big sister, don't..." Shirai Kuroko was about to stop her, but Rod covered her lips with his hand, cutting off her words. The girl looked up at him in astonishment.

"The iconic scene is coming." Rod's lips curved upward as he spoke with faint anticipation.

Misaka Mikoto showed no panic as she faced the car rushing in to crush her. She flicked out an arcade coin from her fingertips, and surging lightning gathered at her hand. The moment the coin landed on her fingertip, thunder exploded through the air. The coin shot forth like a shell, becoming an orange-red beam that streaked directly toward the car.

The Railgun struck the underside of the car. The kinetic energy that burst outward instantly flipped the vehicle into the air, where it spun several times before crashing straight down. Protected by the airbags, the robber inside narrowly escaped disaster.

"Feels like something's missing." Watching Misaka Mikoto's valiant figure as she brushed aside the bangs at her forehead, Rod rubbed his chin and said strangely.

Feeling something unusual against his palm, Rod looked down and saw Shirai Kuroko glaring at him with beautiful eyes as though she wanted to swallow him whole, dark fury radiating from her face.

"Oh~ So it was Miss Commentator." Rod suddenly realized and removed his hand, allowing Shirai Kuroko to breathe again.
