The next day at noon, Luo Ze and Ellie headed to the auction house at the center of the island.

They had originally planned to leave the island today, but they happened to hear that a local auction would be held. So Luo Ze decided to take a look at this so-called auction.

If there was anything good, Luo Ze would definitely find a way to get it. Even if there was nothing worthwhile, wasting one day was no big deal.

Luo Ze and Ellie soon arrived in front of the auction house in the center of the island.

After casually looking around, Luo Ze found that the auction venue was fairly large, with plenty of seats—enough to accommodate several hundred people.

However, the entrance was currently guarded by several men dressed in black. Since it was not yet time to enter, they were not letting anyone through.

Luo Ze stood there holding Ellie's hand as they waited, and he soon spotted quite a few pirates and pirate hunters.

His gaze lingered on those pirates for a few seconds as he recognized their bounties.

"Miaoshe the Quickshot, bounty of 95 million Berries."

He quickly withdrew his gaze and muttered to himself, "The ones who came here today are all pirates with fairly high bounties. It looks like this auction should have some decent items. Otherwise, these guys wouldn't have all gathered here."

While Luo Ze was observing the pirates, the others also noticed him and recognized his identity. Many pirates raised their brows.

A pirate with an 80 million Berry bounty looked at Luo Ze with interest and laughed.

"Isn't that Killing Sword Luo Ze? Didn't expect that madman to come to this auction too. This is getting interesting."

Beside him stood the intelligence officer of his pirate crew. Hearing the man mention Luo Ze, he replied with some interest as well.

"Heh, I heard that madman Luo Ze killed Killer, one of Kid's officers. Kid has been searching for him this whole time. If Kid shows up later, things will get interesting."

The pirate with the 80 million Berry bounty suddenly lit up at those words. Killing Sword Luo Ze and the pirate Kid were practically the two craziest and strongest pirates in the South Blue. If the two of them held a grudge against each other, their clash would be quite a spectacle.

Luo Ze had no idea that those pirates were discussing him and Kid. After standing there for a while, he soon noticed that the black-clad men guarding the entrance had stepped aside. He then led Ellie toward the venue.

But at that exact moment, a commotion suddenly erupted from the crowd behind him.

Though Luo Ze could not make out what the pirates were shouting, it seemed that someone important had arrived.

He instinctively stopped and turned to look behind him. Amid the crowd, he saw a familiar figure.

Kid!

Kid still looked very young at the moment, probably only ten years old, with a slight difference from his appearance in the original story.

However, his outfit was exactly the same as in the original story. He still had that red, spiky hedgehog-like hair, a dagger and pistol strapped to his chest, and blue goggles over his face.

Several tall pirates followed behind him. These guys had all appeared in the original story. The one on the left seemed to be called Zombie, a strange man who could breathe fire. He looked like a zombie, with his mouth sewn shut and blue-striped thorn patterns across his body.

The one on the right was called Yasha. The pirate crew's insignia was pasted onto his belly. His bounty was unknown.

Besides them, there were also two rooster-haired men, one fat and one thin. However, Luo Ze remembered that they were very weak. In the original story, they were injured and knocked down while fighting a Pacifista. Their weapons were three-pronged forks.

"Heh, I didn't expect to see him here. Looks like I'm really lucky."

Luo Ze broke into a delighted smile. Fortunately, he had chosen to attend this auction. Otherwise, he would have gone through all that trouble searching the seas for any trace of Kid, only to waste his effort.

He simply stopped where he was, holding Ellie's hand as he stood there and watched Kid with a smile.

"Killing Sword Luo Ze!" As Kid walked through the crowd, he sensed a gaze fixed on him from ahead. Feeling something was off, he looked in that direction—and the moment he saw Luo Ze, his face turned utterly cold.

Killer's death had enraged him all along.

If he had not had many important matters to handle in the South Blue over the past month, he would have led his crew on their pirate ship to Dog Town long ago to take revenge on Luo Ze.

Thus, upon seeing Luo Ze now, the killing intent in his heart was obvious.

"So it was you, you bastard, who killed Killer!"

Recognizing Luo Ze, Kid roared and suddenly raised an arm, aiming all five fingers at him.

Then, his magnetism ability activated. The weapons carried by the pirates present seemed to be pulled by an invisible force, rapidly flying toward Luo Ze.

"Hmph, a magnetism-type ability?"

Luo Ze snorted. The steel sword in its sheath had also begun to stir, but before it could move, Luo Ze had already pressed one hand against its hilt and drawn it in an instant.

"You've got some skill. No wonder you're a pirate with a bounty of 120 million Berries." Luo Ze looked at Kid with a smile and sheathed his sword.

"You're Kid, right? Save whatever grudge we have until after the auction. Once it's over, I'll have a proper match with you. Of course, if you choose to run away, I won't stop you."

With that, Luo Ze turned around and left with Ellie.

Kid watched Luo Ze's retreating figure, his face twisting with rage.
