Background / History

Tang San arrives at Nuoding Academy with Old Jack, where his Blue Silver Grass martial soul is dismissed by the gatekeeper. Tang Chuan intervenes, recognizing Tang San's dormant Blue Silver Emperor bloodline and establishing an immediate martial-soul resonance with him. 1

When Yu Xiaogang publicly deduces that Tang San has twin martial souls, Tang San reacts with concealed killing intent and nearly draws a hidden weapon. He instead chooses Tang Chuan as his master, later revealing the Clear Sky Hammer to him without fear or suspicion. 2 3

Tang San rapidly begins to view Tang Chuan as a father. Tang Chuan teaches him that his Blue Silver Grass should develop through life-attribute soul rings, while the Clear Sky Hammer will become his principal offensive martial soul. 3

After learning that Ah Yin is his mother and that she remains alive in her Blue Silver Emperor form, Tang San resolves to find her. He ultimately absorbs her Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone, which advances his bloodline and causes major changes to his body and martial soul. 13 16 17

Tang San's relationship with Tang Hao deteriorates after he discovers the harsh conditions in which Ah Yin was left and witnesses Tang Hao's hostility toward Tang Chuan. He openly defends Tang Chuan when Tang Hao insults him. 15 35

Appearance

Tang San initially has plain features, wheat-colored skin, short black hair with faint blue highlights, and an appearance noticeably similar to Tang Chuan after his first soul-ring absorption. 7 His soul bone absorption later transforms him further, and by adulthood he has become a tall, striking young man. 16 52

  • Light-blue hair after absorbing Ah Yin's soul bone; later wears it long. 16 52
  • Deep, clear blue eyes. 52
  • Fair, flawless skin following his transformation. 16
  • Blue-gold soul power after later growth. 52
  • Wears a fitted dark-blue outfit embroidered with pale Blue Silver patterns as an adult. 52

Personality

Tang San is intensely filial and loyal, placing extraordinary value on care, family, and mentorship. Tang Chuan's attention and protection affect him deeply because they contrast with Tang Hao's cold upbringing; he repeatedly expresses gratitude through obedience, gifts, and a desire to protect Tang Chuan. 2 7 9

He is diligent, ambitious, and highly receptive to instruction. He eagerly pursues stronger soul rings, accepts difficult cultivation methods, and aspires to establish the Tang Sect with Tang Chuan as its Supreme Elder. 4 6 18

Tang San can also be possessive and violent toward perceived threats to Tang Chuan. He is jealous of Xiao Wu's interest in his godfather and considers killing Yu Xiaogang after defeating him, though Tang Chuan restrains him. 5 9
