The Sea God is tied to the divine inheritance represented by the Sea God/Asura God Tang San template used by Tang Chuan. Early in the story, Tang Chuan's system lists Sea God-related powers as locked, including the Sea God Domain and the Thirteen Golden Halberds 1.

Tang Chuan gradually accumulates Sea God Affinity after his seventh soul ring phase begins, sensing a faint connection to the vast ocean during cultivation 10. By the time his Sea God position progress reaches ninety-five percent, the faint trident mark on his forehead indicates extremely high affinity, close to the point where the Sea God could personally bestow a divine trial 46.

When Tang Chuan unlocks the Sea God's Trident, the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud flies out of the Heaven Dou imperial treasury and fuses with the trident as its core.
