Every Wizard with ambition wanted to become a god themselves, not become a god's subject. If someone became a god, they would inevitably plunder faith power on a massive scale, demanding that everyone believe in them. Conflict was bound to arise over this, and for any Wizard, it was nearly fatal.
So, don't be fooled by Dole helping the Tree of Life now. If the Tree of Life attained godhood in the future and demanded faith from him, the two would become enemies as well.
This was a conflict of paths—irreconcilable and unavoidable.
Dole had thought about many things. That was why he wanted to go to a larger world. Though great worlds had more gods, they also had more land, which meant more choices, rather than being like this small world, where there was no choice at all.
What Dole truly wanted now was to take another path: personally grasp the power of laws, not fuse with a godhead, become a truly free Wizard, and travel between worlds.
Fusing with a godhead would bind him to a particular world. He did not want to become a puppet of the world.
Having made up his mind, Dole only wanted to improve himself and think of nothing else.
After leaving the Elf Forest, Babel Tower slowly rose higher, soon vanishing into the clouds. Once it reached a certain altitude, it flew straight toward the Far North.
At that moment, Monica and Brian both ran to the window to look outside.
Over the past half month, the two children had unconsciously grown a whole head taller. Monica was already around 1.45 meters tall, while Brian had grown to nearly 1.2 meters, looking like children of eight or nine.
