Background / History
Dole built Babel Tower as a three-story octagonal tower before his planned journey to the Far North. He finished its initial formations and rune-based energy core in roughly three days. Unlike the Chris Molten Fire Furnace model, Babel Tower's core stores energy within a vast space constructed entirely from magic runes; its capacity and energy grade depend on its builder's ability rather than a fixed upper limit. 433
The tower was conceived as Dole's primary wizard tower and was upgraded in secrecy. Dole refused to let others learn its high-level construction, considering wizard-tower arrays a wizard's ultimate secret. Its core design aimed to create an independent space capable of spanning heaven and earth, crossing worlds, and enduring spatial turbulence. 595
After reaching Level Seven, Babel Tower became Dole's decisive defense against Corpse Sixty-Four and Corpse Sixty-Five. It withstood their sixth-level death spells, including Eye of Death, then used spatial movement and direct impact to reverse the battle. 681 683
Babel Tower later became a fixture of Albis Mountain and Albis City. Its presence represented Dole's authority, provided security to the local Glory Wizard Alliance, and served as his mobile base during expeditions and political travel. 703 847 878
Its later upgrades focused on fulfilling its original purpose: void travel. At Level Nine, Babel Tower supported Dole's spatial-search array and his exploration of the void beyond Elfa World. 828 1138 1147
Appearance
Babel Tower began as a compact but grand three-floor octagonal tower. Its later form retained a conventional, conservative design without excessive decoration, though its scale and spatial aura made it conspicuous among ordinary wizard towers. 433 768
- Built in an octagonal configuration, an uncommon design among wizard-tower clusters. 433
- Contains extensive top-grade wood, Li Fire Mystical Iron, and other rare metals. 695
- Reached eighteen floors at Level Seven, thirty-two floors at Level Eight, and thirty-six floors at Level Nine. 600 963 1146
- At Level Eight, it appeared increasingly indistinct, as if its visible body were a projection from another world. 963
- Its exterior is exceptionally durable; even a severe crash consumed over half its defensive power without breaking the tower body. 553
Abilities & Skills
Rune-Based Energy Core
Babel Tower's core is made from layers of pure magic runes rather than a furnace. The formations bind energy inside a constructed rune-space and regulate its storage and release. 433
- Its energy capacity and grade have no stated fixed limit; both depend on the builder's ability. 433
- Its Level Seven core evolved a virtual world of energy and demonstrated spatial properties. 599
- It can harvest immense elemental energy from Albis Mountain's storm domain. 720
- High-cost operations can severely drain its reserves; opening a spacetime passage and making a major impact required extensive energy replenishment. 914
Spatial Traversal
Babel Tower's arrays are fundamentally tailored to the void and spatial travel. 827 828
- Can conceal itself in the void while scouting its surroundings. 674
- Can perform short-range teleportation, which Dole used to instantly kill Corpse Sixty-Five. 683
- Can move through hard rock by spreading a yellow light that merges into surrounding stone. 535
- At Level Nine, it is intended to traverse space and support interworld exploration. 535 1138
Defensive Halo
Babel Tower's defensive arrays form a white protective halo around its body. 680 681
- Lower-level spells shatter before reaching the main halo. 681
- It withstood simultaneous sixth-level death spells, including two Eye of Death attacks; the halo dimmed but recovered after the core released energy. 681
- Its internal structure is tightly interlocked; Aixi believed unnoticed infiltration would require a Level Nine wizard. 571
Impact and Ramming
Babel Tower can use spatial traversal and its reinforced body as a direct weapon. 681 695
- Dole used it to charge Corpse Sixty-Four after confirming that sixth-level attacks could not breach its defenses. 681
- Allen used its spatial traversal to ram and kill Level Seven Magic Beasts during the battle for Albis Mountain. 698
- Its body is reinforced with countless rare metals, making its impacts exceptionally destructive. 686
- The tower is primarily designed for travel, escape, and defense rather than ramming; large impacts are energy-intensive. 828 914
Concealment and Detection
Babel Tower possesses stealth and reconnaissance functions. 666 674 695
- Can activate invisibility while flying at high altitude. 666
- Can remain hidden in the void while observing nearby threats. 674
- Its control functions can generate light screens showing creatures and energy signatures across much of a mountain range. 695
AI and Control
Aixi is explicitly referred to as Babel Tower's AI during the Albis Mountain operation. She can activate its systems and coordinate with temporary operators. 698
- Aixi operated the tower during travel and studied its wizard arrays alongside Dole. 457
- Allen temporarily controlled Babel Tower during the Albis Mountain campaign, using a control token to access its systems. 695
- Allen identified three principal control modes: impact, defense, and spatial traversal. 695
Internal Facilities
- Energy-core chamber — Houses the rune-based core that powers the tower and its formations. 433 457
- Aixi's floor — The tenth floor was arranged in a feminine style and contained more than forty rooms. 561
- Recreation floor — The top floor was later converted into an open recreation area overlooking Albis City. 1036
- Void array laboratory — Contains Dole's machine-like “Void” wizard array for stabilizing space and conducting spatial searches. 1137 1161
Relationships
- Dole — Builder, owner, and principal controller. He created Babel Tower as his core wizard tower and personally guarded its advanced construction secrets. 433 595
- Aixi — Referred to as Babel Tower's AI; she operates its systems, monitors scans, and assists in battle. 698
- Allen — Temporary operator during the Albis Mountain campaign; he used its spatial traversal to ram Level Seven Magic Beasts. 695 698
- Bal — Assisted Dole in completing Babel Tower's Level Six form. Dole later attributed the tower's design to a book received from Bal. 484 827
- Glory Wizard Alliance — Repeatedly sought access to Babel Tower's spatial knowledge and blueprints; Dole refused to provide the latter. 779 828
- Corpse Sixty-Four and Corpse Sixty-Five — Sixth-level undead wizards who attempted to seize Babel Tower and were defeated through its defenses and spatial abilities. 680 681 683
Story Role / Major Arcs
- Construction and Far North preparations — Dole creates Babel Tower as a three-floor octagonal core tower and equips it with its first rune-based energy core. 433
- Seventh-level upgrade — Dole expands the tower and evolves its core into a Level Seven spatial energy structure. 598 599 600
- Undead assault — Babel Tower withstands the attacks of two sixth-level necromancers and helps eliminate Corpse Sixty-Five. 680 681 683
- Battle for Albis Mountain — Allen pilots Babel Tower against Level Seven Magic Beasts, using spatial traversal to ram and kill the giant ape and giant wolf. 695 698
- Albis City symbol — The tower is established at Albis Mountain as a visible expression of Dole's authority and a source of security for the region. 703 847
- Void-exploration development — Babel Tower is upgraded through Levels Eight and Nine to support Dole's spatial research and travel beyond the world. 963 1138 1147
Trivia
- “Babel” carries two stated meanings: “Gate of God” and “reaching the heavens.” 433
- Wizard towers cannot be stored inside storage rings; Babel Tower can instead shrink into a palm-sized disc and hang from Dole's waist. 433
- Babel Tower was originally designed for void travel, not conventional offense. Its devastating ramming tactics are an improvised use of its spatial movement and durability. 828 914
