Discussing the Marriage

The Empire's ruling class was made up of nobles. Among the nobles of Wasen Fort, the highest rank was that of Prince, a hereditary title. The current lord of Wasen Fort was Dailulaide.

Below the Prince were three Grand Dukes: the two leaders in charge of the military, and the president of the Glory Wizard Alliance. These were all appointed positions.

As for Marquises, there were very few—only around ten. They were either heads of major families or city lords of various counties, their families having exchanged generations of military merit for those titles.

And Dole was a Marquis. Within the Empire, his standing was equal to theirs.

What did that mean? Dole's status now stood above everyone else's, on equal footing with the great families.

Out in public, anyone who saw him had to respectfully address him as Lord Marquis.

Dole and Aixi's marriage would not take up one of the Rhine Family's noble title quotas. If they had children in the future, the title could even be inherited. To any force, that was of immense value.

Their wedding would definitely have to be a grand affair.

The only question was whether Dole and Aixi were willing to make such a spectacle of it. Wizards all preferred peace and quiet.

That was what most people were thinking.

Early in the morning, when the first ray of sunlight tore through the darkness and frost still covered the northern earth, Dole and Aixi were already standing at the gates of the Rhine Family.

Not the small gate of Westerlin's household, but the true main gate of the Rhine Family.

Before the enormous structure that symbolized the northern lion, there was usually only a squad of guards. Even the various family heads and rulers seldom came here.

So when the two arrived,
