Over the past thousand years, if there was one battle that had exerted the greatest influence on the world's higher powers, it had undoubtedly been humanity's war to annihilate the Nightmare Patriarch. That battle had not involved much smoke or fire; most of it had been a clash of spiritual power. Yet its scope and the number of races involved had reached an unimaginable level. Seven level-nine experts had been deployed just to surround and kill the Nightmare Patriarch. Humanity had sent four, the Elf Race one, while the Magic Beasts had sent two experts with powerful spiritual force—one from the Dragon Race and one from the Spirit Fire Sparrow Race. Even so, the Dragon Race's expert had fallen on the spot, while the others had all been wounded. Vast numbers of level-eight and level-seven onlookers had died or been injured nearby, and they had died silently, without a sound. It had been utterly terrifying.
Back then, Three-Headed Dragon Lizard had only been level six. He had watched from afar with the other Magic Beasts, helplessly watching that storm of spiritual force sweep past him as Magic Beasts before his eyes fell in droves, their lives snuffed out in an instant. That extreme terror had left an indelible mark on him.
