History

Ancient Centrality

Ancient records describe the Violet Thorn Domain as the center of the world later known as the Violet Thorn Great World. The Violet Thorn Sacred Land once controlled Violet Thorn Continent and ruled countless other domains, while the domain’s void passages connected it to 360 major domains. 460 717

The ancient Violet Thorn Sacred Land produced immense figures, including Immortal Emperor Mohen and Grand Elder Ink Trace. Records state that ten Immortal Emperors once existed in the world, with half originating from the Violet Thorn Domain, but they later departed for unknown reasons. 460

The world also allegedly possessed a vortex passage to the higher-level Primordial Ancient Continent. That route vanished in the remote past. 910

Isolation and Incomplete Laws

For countless years, the Violet Thorn Domain was isolated from the other major domains. Its void passages were sealed, its cultivators had no exchange with the outside world, and those who left the domain did not return. 710 792

Its laws of heaven and earth were once incomplete:

• Cultivators could not advance beyond the great completion of the Golden Immortal realm into the Immortal Venerable realm. 710
• Apart from Immortality Ascension and Golden Immortal tribulations, breakthroughs did not draw lightning tribulations. 710

Nine Tribulations Merger

The Nine Tribulations Path to Immortality secret realm later merged with the Violet Thorn Domain. Its reflection world vanished into Violet Thorn Continent, causing the continent to expand and generating new mountains, rivers, forests, and deserts. 388

The merger completed the domain’s heavenly laws and enabled its cultivators to advance into the Immortal Venerable realm. The Nine Tribulations Immortal Inquiry Tower appeared at the center of Violet Thorn Continent during this change. 710 852

Reopening to the Great World

When the void passages began opening, the Violet Thorn Domain became accessible to cultivators from the other major domains. Its complete laws made it especially valuable to Immortal Venerables seeking a path to Zenith Heaven Golden Immortality. 791 794

The influx quickly escalated into territorial competition. Nearly ten thousand outside cultivators entered within the first month, and many native sects pledged allegiance to the newcomers. 794

The Purple Sky, Purple Cloud, and Purple Light Sacred Lands reunited as the Violet Thorn Sacred Land to defend their ancestral territory in the Violet Thorn Mountains. 794 820

Later Developments

As the Parasol Tree Domain’s cultivation environment improved, it became comparable to the Violet Thorn Domain and, in its central region, somewhat better. The two domains came to be regarded as the Violet Thorn Great World’s foremost cultivation regions. The passage between them became the world’s busiest void passage, although the Violet Thorn Continent retained its irreplaceable role as a transfer hub for all 360 other major domains. 948 1009

Qin Huaian’s actions against the Heavenly Treasure Sacred Land changed the balance of power in the Violet Thorn Mountains. He publicly declared the mountains to be Violet Thorn Sacred Land territory and warned the Heavenly Treasure Sacred Land against threatening the sect or its allies. Subsequently, the other major sects withdrew from the mountains, allowing Violet Thorn Sacred Land cultivators to patrol them. 1003 1008

The opening of the Nine Tribulations Immortal Inquiry Tower drew large numbers of travelers across the continent. To improve access and secure resources for the Violet Thorn Sacred Land, Qin Huaian refined sixth-order teleportation arrays, and Yun Yin established a public network using them. Travelers could reach the tower in thirteen transfers rather than undertake a flight of roughly a century. 1045
