Background / History

The scripture was first bestowed by the Supreme Purity Hall's Inheritance Space to cultivators who reached the Thousand-Step Staircase's 800th step. Qin Huaian received its complete inherited information directly into his mind after swearing a Great Dao oath not to impart it before the Integrated Body Realm. Although its grade was initially unstated, its reward position above earth-grade methods led Qin Huaian to suspect it was heaven-grade or higher. 70

It was later identified as the Supreme Purity Sect's core foundational art. Qingxu explained that the transmitted version was only a primer: the complete path cannot simply be taught, but must be comprehended individually by each cultivator. 176 177

After Qin Huaian perfected the scripture, the portrait embedded within its inheritance connected him to its creator, Supreme Purity True Person. The True Person stated that the sect once had hundreds of millions of practitioners and ordered Qin Huaian to spread both the scripture and his portrait. 331 332

Qin Huaian subsequently disseminated the art through the Violet Thorn Domain, Kun Yuan World, Spirit Rock Island, and eventually the Luo River World. Its public spread undermined major sects' monopoly on powerful foundational methods and accelerated human cultivators' overall growth. 641 712 899

Abilities & Characteristics

Universal foundational cultivation

The scripture has no spirit-root attribute requirement. Any spirit root can use it to refine spiritual power suited to that cultivator, making it unusually versatile among foundational methods. 70

• Its circulation route passes through numerous meridians and acupoints not used by ordinary techniques. 78
• It can expel impurities from the meridians and widen them through repeated circulation, though the widening process is extremely painful. 80
• It is considered suitable for human cultivators but unsuitable for the Demon Race. 429

Even basic cultivation of the scripture improves cultivation speed over ordinary methods and produces denser, stronger spiritual power. 101 120

• Qin Huaian did not initially use the portrait, but it appeared within his mind once he perfected the scripture. 331
