Twice the Charm

In the forest.

Naruto and Hinata stared in disbelief as Neji approached, carrying Uzumaki Menma on his back.

What on earth had happened during the time they were in the forest searching for the Nine Masked Beasts?

Was this some kind of magic?

Neji, with Uzumaki Menma on his back, walked up to the group of five and gently placed Menma on the ground.

Naruto was so shocked he couldn't speak, pointing at Neji, struggling to get a word out.

Neji ignored Naruto, turning to greet Hinata instead, "Hinata-sama."

Hinata was equally bewildered, "Neji-niisan, why are you carrying Menma from the direction of Konoha's streets?"

"It's nothing! I just ran into this guy on the streets of Konoha, and he asked me to carry him back. Right?"

Neji shot a sharp look at Uzumaki Menma, the meaning clear: don't mention the peeping incident in the forest.

Uzumaki Menma nodded his little head, "Neji is right."

Shikamaru asked suspiciously, "But... Menma, why were you on the streets?"

Uzumaki Menma made something up, "Oh, nothing, just felt like it."

Nobody believed Uzumaki Menma's words.

There had to be something more to it!

Neji waved his hand, "Alright, I've delivered him. I'm off."

After Neji left.

Ino asked curiously, "Naruto, Hinata, why did you guys look so surprised just now?"

Naruto explained, "That's because Menma and I had a fight with that guy just two days ago."

Now everyone was confused, "Huh? You fought two days ago, so why is he being so nice and bringing Menma back today?"

Naruto wondered, "Yeah, why would that guy be so nice? Menma, what's going on?"

Of course, Uzumaki Menma couldn't reveal that he and Neji were peeping into the women's bathhouse, so he changed the subject, "It's really nothing. Neji's actually a pretty good guy. By the way, how did your search for my Nine Masked Beasts go?"

Naruto frowned, "It's too hard to find them. Even searching together, we only found three."

Ino and Hinata each held one of Byakko and Genbu.

As for Kinja, being a snake, the girls were a bit afraid of it, so it stayed with Shikamaru.

"If you can't find them, then there's no helping it. Let's end the hide-and-seek game here."

Uzumaki Menma snapped his fingers, and all six of the Nine Masked Beasts still hiding in the forest returned to Uzumaki Menma's side.

After snapping his fingers again, all the Nine Masked Beasts turned into smoke and disappeared.

Ino and Hinata pouted. They wanted to play with Byakko and Genbu more, and the other six Nine Masked Beasts were cute too. They hadn't had enough fun yet.

The sky was slowly darkening.

The group all went home.

The next day.

After meeting up with his friends, he went to Hinata's house as usual, waiting for Hinata to finish her training.

Uzumaki Menma, who was drinking juice, suddenly stood up and said, "I forgot something at home, I'll go get it! You guys don't have to wait for me, just go play, I'll find you."

Before Naruto and the others could react, Uzumaki Menma dashed out of Hinata's house.

Uzumaki Menma walked through the Hyuga Compound.

For some reason, ever since injecting that Bloodline Completion Elixir, as long as Uzumaki Menma had seen someone before, he could sense their general location if they were nearby.

Uzumaki Menma stood outside a courtyard about the same size as Hinata's house.

Uzumaki Menma felt that Neji was inside.

In the training ground within the courtyard.

Neji was sparring with Hizashi Hyuga.

Hizashi Hyuga suddenly activated his Byakugan during his sparring with Neji.

Hizashi Hyuga smiled and said, "Let's end today's sparring here. Neji, your friend has come to see you."

Uzumaki Menma immediately got up from the ground, scratched his head, and said with a dry laugh, "You must be Neji's father. Nice to meet you."

Hizashi Hyuga smiled and said, "Hello, then I won't disturb you."

After Hizashi Hyuga left, Neji walked up to Uzumaki Menma and asked, "What are you doing here?"

"Didn't we agree yesterday that we'd go to the women's..."

Neji released his hand from Uzumaki Menma's mouth and said with a stern face, "Don't talk, let's go outside first!"

In a corner outside the Hyuga Compound.

On the wall behind them, Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, Ino, and Hinata were all standing, their eyes staring straight at the two of them.
