One corner of the attic was especially quiet late at night.
Ruger lay on the bed with his arms beneath his head, silently sorting through his tangled thoughts.
Ruger had not asked about any so-called reward, and old Lunse had not pressed him for the magic stones they had agreed upon for gathering information. Apparently, his attention was now entirely on getting a good price for Mr. Niu Wengduo tomorrow. Everyone involved deserved a share, after all, and providing valuable intelligence to the Foreign God Oversight Council naturally warranted some reward. Ruger only hoped that the merchandise himself, Mr. Niu Wengduo, would also meet a good end.

After returning this time, Ruger sensed it even more clearly: old Lunse carried a trace of a demon's aura, with a hint of the Nightmare World concealed within it as well.
He rolled over and got up.
The unexpected turn of events had disrupted his plans.
He still had not found an opportunity to consult old Lunse about his potion problems or whether Dreaming Mushrooms could be cultivated.
With a wave of his hand, he opened a spatial doorway and entered the Abyss Bedroom Space.
Throughout his journey in the Nightmare World, he had only found one opportunity to return to the Bedroom
