He knew he had not truly weakened; his draconic bloodline had merely thinned. Having just advanced to Wizard, he was still full of vigor. Besides, he still counted as a Dragonborn Kobold.
He looked down at his chest and simply stopped trying to restrain the Blood Curse Doll, raising a hand to gently smooth his slightly disheveled fur instead.
The blood-colored Fuzzies gradually returned to their original colors, as though nothing had happened. But Ruger knew that the hope of his next advancement-or perhaps the one after that-was brewing there.
The hourglass of impermanence had been successfully inverted, just like the fortunes of people in this world.
Ruger wanted to find someone to spar with again, and suddenly thought of Mahama. He would probably make that big fellow's jaw drop the next time they met! Next time, Mahama would have to bow to him.
