Ruger's confusion was naturally surpassed by that of the two wizard apprentices, Mahama and Varin. Yet they both chose to trust Wizard Zorn. This chest-haired man who loved to drink and occasionally slept by the roadside was actually quite measured when it came to serious matters. He was not as casual and rough as he appeared. If what he was doing now was discourteous, then there had to be a reason why he needed to be discourteous.
The group approached at an unhurried pace—or rather, this had been the direction they were headed in from the start.

Having only recently undergone his advancement, he could roughly tell that the advanced one seemed to have reached a critical moment.
Advancing in a place like this naturally had something to do with one's own path, or it might be a hard requirement of some sublimation ritual. For instance, there might be something suitable within the mushroom forest—or, on a grander scale, one might need to advance within the Fairy Kingdom.
