The Spirit-Suckers followed the branching paths of the scarlet long fur. Every spiritual lead ultimately pointed to the same answer: these hairs were all a single strand. Previously, Ruger had only known that a larger concentration of them lay in one region inside the ugly little sea beast's body, and had assumed that was where the hairs converged. But the tracking carried out by so many Spirit-Suckers revealed that it was clearly not as simple as he had thought. There was a ball there. A single strand of fur had formed a ball, then split into many branches.

Ruger dearly wanted to quip, Even this fur has split ends.

He really wanted to throw a Spirit Fur Nourishment spell at it and see what happened.

And so a name was born in Ruger's mind, even though he had yet to truly bring the method into being: the Ball-Forming Symbiotic Fur Cultivation Method.

Ball-forming symbiotic fur was the name he had chosen for this strange scarlet fur.
