Departure for Namek

Ye Bai came to Goku's house again. Chi-Chi was home alone, while Gohan had run off somewhere to play.

"Chi-Chi, have you thought it over? It'd really be a waste if Gohan's talent went unused in martial arts." Ye Bai looked at Chi-Chi as she poured him tea.

"Xiaobai, Gohan is still so young. Shouldn't we wait until he's a little older before letting him learn martial arts?" Chi-Chi said hesitantly.

"Chi-Chi, you've protected Gohan too well. Look at him now—how is he even remotely like a martial artist's child? Forget being a martial artist; with that personality, he'll get bullied at school when he grows up." Seeing her like this, Ye Bai had no choice but to be a little harsher.

"But..." Chi-Chi still wanted to argue.

"No buts. I'll take Gohan away to train. Once he's about old enough to start school, I'll let him study. Of course, I'll bring him back to stay with you every so often." Left with no choice, Ye Bai spoke firmly.

After saying that, Ye Bai did not wait for Chi-Chi to respond. He turned and left, searched for Gohan's energy, and used Instant Transmission to appear beside him. Gohan was catching butterflies in the forest and jumped in fright when Ye Bai suddenly appeared.

"Uncle Xiaobai," Gohan called timidly.

"Mm. Gohan, I just spoke with your mother. From now on, you'll train with me. You can't go home to see your mother until your training is more or less complete." Ye Bai answered softly before speaking sternly.

It couldn't be helped. He could not go easy on Gohan at this stage; he had to be forceful. Gohan was far too timid now. It would be better to leave him to Piccolo later on.

Ye Bai picked Gohan up and returned to the foot of Bun Mountain. The others had happened to return as well, so Ye Bai straightforwardly told them to go find Bulma. A year ago, Ye Bai had asked Bulma to build a spaceship, and it was finally complete. They could now set off for Namek.

Without even getting a chance to rest, the group set off for West City again, while Ye Bai took Gohan to a wilderness far from Bun Mountain.

After setting Gohan down, Ye Bai told him that he would need to survive there alone for a month before Ye Bai taught him how to train. Gohan tearfully said he did not want to and started acting cute toward Ye Bai. Unable to bear it, Ye Bai brought him back to his own home on Bun Mountain.

Piccolo could handle the wilderness survival thing himself. Ye Bai admitted he just could not do it. He took Gohan straight into the Gravity Chamber, set to twice Earth's gravity, and began teaching him from the most basic horse stance. There was no helping it—the kid was practically being raised into uselessness.

Goku and the others arrived at Bulma's home in West City. Looking at the enormous spaceship before them, they could not stop marveling at Bulma's talent. However, because a 200-times Gravity Chamber had been installed and the overall size had been expanded, the ship's speed had slowed. It would take thirty days to reach Namek.

Everyone entered the spaceship. The first thing they saw was a rest area, complete with sofas and televisions, along with many rooms for everyone to sleep in. Then there was the training room, which was as large as the rest area and spacious enough for everyone to train together. It was made of a special metal that was difficult to damage. Though it still could not withstand a direct attack from Goku, it was more than capable of enduring the aftershocks.

After the introduction was finished, Bulma decided to join them on their interstellar adventure. Everyone was surprised, but Bulma said that since she had never left Earth before, she naturally had to come along.

After Bulma made a series of adjustments, the spaceship started up. With a rumble, it slowly rose into the air. As they watched the scenery outside the windows, everything felt wonderfully new.

Meanwhile, Ye Bai carried the exhausted Gohan, who had passed out, out of the training room. After wiping down Gohan's body, Ye Bai laid him on the bed before flashing away to the Lookout.

Kami and Mr. Popo came out, somewhat baffled as they looked at Ye Bai, who had suddenly appeared.

"Kami, Mr. Popo, long time no see. I may need to borrow your place for a while," Ye Bai said apologetically.

"Long time no see, Ye Bai. It's fine, use it as you please. After all, you helped me tremendously," Kami said to him.

"Then I won't stand on ceremony." With that, Ye Bai walked to the center of the open area, slowly closed his eyes, and adjusted his breathing.

Ye Bai first tried to sense the S-cells within his body. After feeling around for a while, he finally found them. He controlled the S-cells and slowly guided them toward his back, then gradually released his energy.

"Ha~~"

A fierce wind began sweeping across the Lookout with Ye Bai at its center. As his energy grew, sweat began pouring from Kami's forehead, and he kept swallowing nervously.

"This energy... it's truly astonishing."

Ye Bai continued releasing his power. With a cry of "Ah!" a white shockwave shot into the sky, scattering the clouds overhead.

The group, who had just broken through the atmosphere, all rushed to the windows and looked toward Earth, too stunned to say a word.

"No... something's still missing. Anger. I need absolute fury!"

Ye Bai began recalling everything that had ever made him angry, including how his girlfriend in his previous life had called him trash and wanted to break up with him. After thinking through everything, he began imagining Goku, Bulma, and the others being killed, imagining the way they had died.

The aura in the sky suddenly turned golden, but only for an instant before it all shattered away. Ye Bai withdrew his energy and muttered.

"I failed. It just won't work."

He simply could not immerse himself in it, because Ye Bai would never let them die. He was angry, but not angry enough. Besides, his ex-girlfriend had broken up with him over money, but with his looks, he was hardly short of women. If his family background had been a little better, Ye Bai might have even sung, "Opening the corner of my memories."

"Sigh... I'll just let nature take its course. My strength is enough for now anyway."

With a sigh, Ye Bai let go of the thought. He turned to bid Kami and Mr. Popo farewell, then vanished from where he stood.
