Android 19 and 20

For three years, Ye Bai had lived a shamelessly indulgent life. The only flaw was that Bulma could never satisfy him; every time, she was the one begging for mercy. Worth mentioning was that Vegeta had actually sought out Ye Bai to ask for guidance in training. Ye Bai did not refuse, letting Vegeta stay and teaching him how to train. He also told him that it would be best if he found a woman he liked and started a family.

Vegeta claimed he did not need such things, but during the time Bulma's older sister, Tights, returned to Earth, the two of them sparked something between them. Or rather, it was not a spark of romance, but its result. That was right—Tights was pregnant.

The wild and uninhibited pair had skipped the whole dating phase and gone straight to having a child. Ye Bai found this quite gratifying. After all, a Saiyan prince with bonds would become a warrior who protected Earth.

Meanwhile, Goku and Piccolo began training Gohan together. The babysitter they had imagined turned out to be Goku's older brother, Raditz. Poor Raditz had been remembered by Ye Bai three years ago and told that if he did not want to die, he could only be a babysitter. Of course, he trained with Goku and the others in his free time, but poor Raditz's fighting power could not keep up with the times. Still, his Saiyan bloodline allowed him to gradually catch up. As they spent time together, Raditz discovered that this sort of life seemed more comfortable than fighting and killing across the universe. His attitude had shifted from reluctant compliance to willing acceptance.

Three years passed in the blink of an eye, and the time Trunks had spoken of arrived. At nine in the morning, everyone gathered atop a mountain not far from a city on a southern island.

Ye Bai had already been waiting there with Bulma and Vegeta, the family of three. Yamcha and Tien Shinhan arrived afterward as well. Once Goku and the others showed up, Yamcha hurriedly waved and called out to them.

After everyone gathered, they were somewhat startled to see the woman beside Vegeta holding a child. Only after Ye Bai explained did they learn that she was Bulma's sister, Tights, and that the child was hers and Vegeta's. Everyone was even more shocked. They had not expected Vegeta to get together with Bulma's sister. Unlike Bulma, Tights was gentler, though she was quite skillful in her own way and had quickly made Vegeta fall for her. Still, she always seemed to be thinking about going on space adventures and writing novels.

Just then, a flying car approached through the sky. Yajirobe had come to deliver Senzu Beans. Seeing them, Ye Bai suddenly remembered the huge jar of Senzu Beans he had forgotten about, still sitting on Bun Mountain.

Goku thought Yajirobe had come to fight alongside them, but after delivering the Senzu Beans, the man simply drove off. Just as everyone was discussing whether the androids might not appear after all, Yajirobe's car was blown up in midair.

Two figures appeared in the sky, then vanished into the city. No one could sense any energy from them at all. Goku handed the Senzu Beans to Bulma, and everyone entered the city to search. Ye Bai, however, did not follow them. Instead, he stayed with Bulma and watched the city below.

"Hey, Xiao Bai, aren't you going?" Bulma asked doubtfully.

"Let Goku and the others look for them. These two androids are relatively weak, so I don't need to step in. I'll just stay here and watch over you. Tights has a child with her, after all," Ye Bai said unhurriedly as he watched the figures below.

Yamcha was the first to hear the screams of civilians and rushed over. He was asking passersby whether they had seen anyone suspicious, completely failing to notice the two figures descending slowly behind him from the sky. Yamcha even turned around and asked the two of them whether they had seen any androids.

Only when he saw the symbols on their hats did he realize that they were the androids. He hurriedly pulled away and had barely shouted for everyone to come before his mouth was covered and his energy began to be drained. It was not until a fuel tanker nearly crashed into them, swerved, and exploded that the others reacted.

Ye Bai instantly appeared beside Yamcha and sent the android holding him flying with a blow, allowing Yamcha to escape disaster. The others gathered as well. Seeing them surround the pair, Ye Bai instantly appeared before the two androids and threw them out of the city.

Everyone followed close behind. Ye Bai told Krillin to take Yamcha to find Bulma, then followed them himself. In the sky, Android 20, Dr. Gero, had already stopped. Seeing through their intentions, he stated their names and information, then said Goku and the others could choose the battlefield that would serve as their graveyard. Hearing that, everyone led the two androids away and flew for a long time before landing in a barren rocky wasteland.

After landing, Goku panted lightly and asked the question on his mind: why did they know all of their identities? Dr. Gero, who had modified himself into Android 20, answered him.

"After hearing my answer, you may regret ever asking that question."

"Son Goku, all this time, without your knowledge, I have been using tiny insect-like spy robots to track you."

"From the World Martial Arts Tournament to your battles with Piccolo and Vegeta... ever since you destroyed the Red Ribbon Army, we have been studying you."

"I have always been thinking about how to defeat you. This is my personal revenge! Because of you alone, the dream of the Red Ribbon Army was shattered, leaving only me." Android 20 spoke calmly.

"So you came looking for revenge against me alone?" Goku voiced the question in his heart. He still felt somewhat guilty that innocent civilians had been harmed because of him.

"From the way you've been talking, it sounds as if you're Dr. Gero himself!" Piccolo seemed to understand something from his tone.

"I am Android 20, personally created by Dr. Gero. Dr. Gero died long ago. He no longer exists in this world." Android 20 refused to admit that he was Dr. Gero.

"I see... Then did your spy robots follow me to Namek and observe me there?" Goku asked.

"There was no need. During your battles against Vegeta and the others, I had already observed all of your hidden abilities and usual methods. Even if your skills improved afterward, judging by your age, it was impossible for you to have made any great leaps in power." Android 20 spoke as flatly as a machine, yet his tone was still just like Dr. Gero's own.

"It looks like you forgot to investigate something very important. So you've already lost." Goku revealed a relieved expression.

"What?" Android 20 asked in surprise.

"That is your fatal weakness. You don't even know about Super Saiyans," Piccolo said, also letting out a sigh of relief.

"Super Saiyans?" Android 20 said in confusion.

Seeing this, Goku transformed into a Super Saiyan. Golden energy flared around his entire body as he said, "None of you interfere. I'm the one they came looking for."

"Indeed! Son Goku's power has increased considerably." No expression appeared on Android 20's mechanical face.

"Android 20, that move does not appear to be Kaio-ken!" Android 19 said as he walked to Android 20's side, his expression equally unchanged.

"This technique is too incredible. It greatly exceeds the values I calculated, but it is not enough to make us panic."

"Not only can I handle him, even Android 19 would be more than enough." After Android 20 spoke, Android 19 nodded and stepped forward.

"Is that so? Then show me what you can do right away and open my eyes!" Goku said confidently.

With that, Goku attacked first. The two engaged in a fierce exchange. While fighting, Android 19 retreated behind a rock, fired a ki blast to obscure Goku's vision, then launched another energy blast at him. Goku turned and dodged, then sent Android 19 flying with an elbow strike.

Android 19 crashed through a small hill, yet walked out completely unharmed. He attacked Goku, only for Goku to dodge easily and kick him into the sky. Goku appeared behind Android 19, clasped his hands together, and smashed them into his back, driving him toward the ground. But just before he hit the earth, Goku appeared beneath him and launched him into the sky again with a knee strike.

Android 19 became Goku's punching bag in the sky. However, because of his viral heart disease, Goku's Super Saiyan form could not quickly finish his opponent.

"So powerful... Is this a Super Saiyan? With our current strength, we simply can't reach that level," Tien Shinhan said in astonishment.

Just then, Krillin arrived as well. Hearing Tien Shinhan's words, he also remarked on how incredible it was. However, Piccolo and Gohan wore doubtful, alarmed expressions.

"You noticed it too, Gohan?"

"For some reason, Son Goku is anxious to settle this quickly. His fighting style is already close to going all out, but what is with that awkward state?" Piccolo shouted.

"Awkward state? What awkward state? Isn't Goku holding the upper hand?" Tien Shinhan turned and asked.

"This is nothing. Goku should be several times stronger than this after transforming into a Super Saiyan!" Having trained with Goku for three years, Piccolo knew Goku's strength better than anyone.

"Right, Yamcha said those androids can absorb their opponent's energy. Could that be why?"

"No. Goku's body is about to give out. His viral heart disease is acting up," Ye Bai said calmly.

"Go back and get the medicine, Gohan."

"I'll watch things here. No matter how big a problem you cause now, I can handle it." Ye Bai's tone was calm and confident.

"Are you sure this is okay, Uncle Ye Bai?" Gohan still hesitated.

"Yeah, go on." Ye Bai watched the battle in the sky without even turning his head.

Not long after Gohan flew home to get the special medicine, Goku kicked Android 19 down to the ground. Just as Krillin and the others thought they had won, Android 19 casually got back to his feet. Seeing this, Goku fired a Kamehameha at him.

Android 19 looked at the incoming energy wave and smiled delightedly, extending his modified right hand to absorb it completely. Krillin and the others stared in shock.

"It... it got absorbed!"

"Just as I thought... I was right! They really do have mechanisms in their hands!" Yamcha shouted as well.

"Goku! Don't use any more energy attacks! Those two can absorb people's energy through their hands. Whatever you do, don't let them grab you, understand?" Piccolo loudly warned Goku in the sky.

"They can absorb energy? Th-this has to be a joke..." Goku said with a bitter smile, gasping for breath.

Seeing that Goku was nearly out of stamina, Android 19 decisively launched a counterattack. He flashed in front of Goku and struck at him. Goku turned to dodge, but his lack of strength left him unable to avoid the second attack—a knee to the stomach. Goku spun around and threw a punch into Android 19's face, but Goku was too exhausted, while Android 19 had grown stronger after absorbing Goku's energy. The punch did nothing to him.

Goku was knocked down again. Just as he was about to use an energy attack, Ye Bai called out to stop him.

"Goku, come back. Your heart disease is acting up. Let Vegeta take over. Gohan has already gone to get the special medicine."

Goku nodded and walked back. Vegeta clicked his tongue, but still stepped forward.

"I'm leaving it to you, Vegeta," Goku said weakly. Krillin stepped forward to support the exhausted Goku.
