Android 17 and Android 18

After bickering with Trunks, Vegeta stopped paying attention to him, turned, and gave chase. Yajirobe crawled out from the nearby ruins, while everyone else confirmed from Bulma that the man just now had indeed been Dr. Gero. Vegeta returned after failing to catch him and overheard their conversation. However, he recalled what Ye Bai had said earlier.

"You already knew who those two androids were, didn't you? What exactly is going on?" Vegeta turned and shouted at Ye Bai.

"Don't talk to your master like that. I'll get angry. And I didn't like how you completely ignored your wife and daughter just now," Ye Bai said, narrowing his eyes.

"Tch. I never cared about that kind of boring stuff anyway," Vegeta said with an indifferent look.

"Looks like becoming a Super Saiyan has made you a little full of yourself, Vegeta." As soon as Ye Bai finished speaking, he vanished and kicked Vegeta away, sending him crashing into a mountainside and burying him beneath it.

"Vegeta!" Tights cried out worriedly.

"Don't worry, Tights. He won't die. I'm just teaching him what humility and responsibility mean." Ye Bai reassured Tights. Though he was rather strong even in his normal state now, Super Saiyan Vegeta would not be crippled by a single kick.

Vegeta burst out of the rubble and hovered in the air, glaring at Ye Bai with anger he dared not voice. Ye Bai gave him a way out, gesturing toward Bulma. Bulma immediately understood and resumed the previous topic. Vegeta went along with it and listened to Bulma and Future Trunks explain.

After hearing them out, everyone learned that Android 17 was a cool young man with long black hair and a scarf around his neck. Android 18 was a very cute girl whose clothing style resembled Trunks's. Both had cold eyes and round earrings, and they possessed unlimited energy. Everyone was shocked upon hearing about the unlimited energy.

"Right! Where is Mr. Son Goku? Where is he?" After finishing his explanation, Trunks noticed Goku was absent and asked.

"He has the heart disease you mentioned. It suddenly flared up just now, so we sent him back to rest," Krillin answered.

"I never expected so much to change," Trunks said with a sigh.

"Bulma, do you know where Dr. Gero's laboratory is? He should have gone back to his lair!" Vegeta asked.

"The laboratory? I think it's somewhere in the mountains near the northern region! There are rumors that there's a laboratory over there built out of a cave," Bulma said after thinking for a moment.

"He left a while ago. Isn't it too late to chase after him now?" Krillin asked somewhat doubtfully.

"It's fine! Did any of you see him fly? That guy planned to use the terrain to escape. As far as I can tell, he should still be nearby!" Vegeta said with certainty.

"I see. You want to destroy the laboratory before Dr. Gero releases Android 17 and Android 18, don't you?" Piccolo said.

"I'm not doing something so cowardly," Vegeta said disdainfully as he looked at Piccolo.

"I just want to deal with those two myself first. After all, those two androids from earlier were far too boring," Vegeta declared confidently.

Trunks was just about to stop Vegeta, but Ye Bai tugged him and he gave up. Vegeta flew north, with the others following close behind.

As they flew north, Trunks kept staring at the figure ahead of them, lost in thought.

"Do you find Vegeta unreasonable? That's just how his mouth is. He's proud, and he never expresses his feelings with words. He isn't as bad as you think. Maybe you'll understand someday."

"How is your timeline? Have Goku and the others been revived?" Ye Bai comforted him briefly before continuing to ask.

"They were revived. Gohan and my father were both brought back, but Uncle Goku died of heart disease, so even Namek's Dragon Balls couldn't revive him," Trunks said with some disappointment.

"Mm. When you return, train properly. There will be even stronger enemies in your future. At the very least, you need to master the fourth stage, and you must pay attention to your normal-state strength," Ye Bai reminded him.

"What did you say? There will be even stronger enemies?" Trunks stopped in midair.

"Come on, we can talk as we go." Ye Bai stopped as well.

"The enemies in the future won't be limited to androids, of course. I only know that someone will later steal Goku's body and come to your time. You need to become stronger than I am now, or if anything seems wrong, come find the future me immediately," Ye Bai told Trunks.

The instant it closed, Ye Bai silently slipped in and hid behind a rock in the corner. Before him stood three capsule-like sleeping chambers, marked with the numbers 16, 17, and 18. Beside them were the already-opened chambers marked 19 and 20.

"If possible, I truly don't want to wake these two, but things have reached this point, and I have no choice. I hope they've been repaired." After saying that, Dr. Gero decisively opened the sleeping chamber marked 17. A handsome black-haired young man wearing a scarf stepped out.

"You've already awakened, Android 17?" Dr. Gero greeted him tentatively.

"Good morning, Dr. Gero!" The young man turned around, casually glanced at the remote control in Dr. Gero's hand, and smiled as he greeted him.

"You're greeting me?" Dr. Gero asked in surprise.

"Of course. You're our creator and father!" Android 17 said, still smiling.

"Then I'll wake Android 18 as well." Dr. Gero smiled and opened Android 18's chamber.

As the chamber door opened, a pair of fair, slender hands emerged and held its sides. A beautiful girl with short blonde hair stepped out. The young man beside her gave her a look, and she nodded imperceptibly.

"Good morning, Dr. Gero!" The girl turned around and greeted Dr. Gero in the same manner.

"Even you're greeting me?" Dr. Gero said, somewhat unable to believe it.

"That's perfectly normal. After all, you're our creator and father," the girl replied with a smile, giving nearly the same answer as the young man.

"Doctor, have you turned yourself into an android as well?" While Dr. Gero was pondering the matter, the girl asked softly.

"Yes. I wanted eternal life as well, but honestly, seeing you two puts me at ease."

"Back when I created you, I concentrated all your functions on the permanent energy reactor and enhanced power functions, making the control functions relatively weak. That was why you previously acted completely without obeying orders."

"But it appears the repairs are complete. This time, you must carry out my orders properly. Son Goku and his companions will arrive here soon. Get rid of them immediately, understand?" Dr. Gero said as he walked up to the two with his hands behind his back.

Seeing that the remote was pointed directly at him, Ye Bai could not resist. A tiny energy blast flew out and shattered it.

"What?" Dr. Gero was horrified.

The two androids also could not help looking toward the rock where Ye Bai was hiding. Ye Bai simply stopped hiding and walked out.

"Sorry, sorry! I just couldn't help it when I saw the remote pointed at me," Ye Bai's teasing voice carried over.

"I was wondering who it was. So it was you. Thank goodness it wasn't Piccolo or Vegeta," Dr. Gero said with a sigh of relief.

"Huh? You think I'm inferior to them? Haha, whatever! That's the remote control you use to control the two androids, isn't it? Shouldn't you be worrying about yourself first?" Ye Bai said mockingly, folding his arms as he leaned against a rock.

"Android 17, Android 18, what are you planning to do?" Dr. Gero shouted when he turned and saw the change in their expressions.

"That's the remote device for emergency shutdown of our energy, right? I don't want to be put into hibernation again, you stinking old man." The boy looked at Dr. Gero with a vicious expression.

"Android 17, stop joking around! Go defeat him!" Dr. Gero ordered, pointing at Ye Bai.

Just then, the voices of the others rang out from outside. A blast followed immediately, and the research facility's doors collapsed with a thunderous crash amid billowing smoke and dust.
