Vegeta's Moment to Shine

Cell spat another red energy blast from his mouth toward the spot where the island had sunk. The blast fell into the sea and kept expanding until a dazzling red glow appeared on the surface, then erupted into waves hundreds of meters high.

"Heh heh, hahahaha... Heh heh, hahahaha!"

Watching this, Cell laughed maniacally in midair, failing to notice a figure plummeting down from high behind him. A kick struck Cell in the back and sent him hurtling toward the ground.

Just before hitting the ground, Cell braced himself with one hand and performed a backflip to cancel out the impact. Though he looked a little disheveled, he had landed safely.

Vegeta then descended behind Cell and said, "So this is the hell you were talking about?"

Cell pushed himself up and stood. "Let me tell you something—you're about to force me to get serious."

"I thought you'd been serious all along. Since you've still been holding back, then I won't hold back either," Vegeta said.

Cell suddenly raised both hands above his head, spreading them apart and bringing them together, then drew them back to his waist. A ring of energy spread out from his body across the ground, forcibly shaving off a layer of the surrounding earth and exposing the natural yellowish-brown soil beneath.

"Oh? Your battle power has jumped several levels, but it still doesn't seem like much." Vegeta's smug smile had not faded all day.

Krillin, who had just arrived in the sky, watched the scene in astonishment.

After raising his energy, Cell rapidly appeared before Vegeta and threw a punch at his head. Vegeta was just about to dodge when he realized that Cell's attack was faster; before he could fully evade, the punch struck his cheek. Yet Vegeta's feet did not shift at all. He straightened himself and looked at Cell.

"Looks like this is the extent of your strength. It seems our training has widened the gap between us far too much."

Cell stumbled back several steps in terror. "Impossible! You're Vegeta... aren't you?"

"I... am Super Vegeta." Vegeta hooked his thumb toward himself and spoke with his trademark expression.

"This Super Vegeta nonsense is just you bragging. The computer said you would be killed by Android 17 in the future. I already absorbed Android 17 into my body. You should know perfectly well who has greater power without me needing to tell you."

Cell fiercely slammed his tail against the ground, as though he could shake off the fear in his heart that way.

"They say a dog that doesn't bite only knows how to bark. That's you, isn't it? If you have time to spout nonsense, you'd be better off worrying about yourself. Though it looks like you're about to fall into despair." Having said that, Vegeta actually turned around and exposed his back to Cell.

Seeing Cell like this from the sky, Krillin thought he had already become perfect. He gripped the remote tightly, but when he turned his head, he saw Ye Bai and Android 18 leaning together on a distant hillside, Ye Bai's arm around her shoulders. Krillin felt as though he had lost something, yet he could not say what it was.

Ye Bai saw Krillin as well and waved to him, though he was already thinking about how to find Krillin a wife. Should he make him the strongest Earthling instead? Forget it. Krillin's dream was to marry a cute wife.

On the other side, Cell suddenly assumed the stance of one of Vegeta's signature moves and said, "Actually, my body contains more than just your cells. I can use your special techniques too. Die!"

With a shout from Cell, a white beam shot from his hands. Vegeta turned around, preparing to take the energy cannon head-on. The blast struck Vegeta and exploded violently. Powerful shockwaves collapsed the surrounding mountains, and countless rocks rolled away with the gusts.

Even Cell himself was sent crashing into and shattering the mountain behind him from the recoil. He pushed aside the rubble pinning him down and looked toward Vegeta, whose position was covered in dust. Just as he was about to laugh, he saw that as the dust dispersed, Vegeta—who had taken the energy cannon head-on—was completely unharmed. Vegeta took two steps forward and said, "You really are different after obtaining my cells. But even if you can use the attack cannon I created, your power still can't compare to mine."

"Damn it! I refuse to believe something like this is possible!"

With a shout, Cell charged at Vegeta and lashed out with his tail. Vegeta instantly flashed behind Cell and, the moment Cell turned around in response, kicked him in the face.

Cell flew backward, with Vegeta chasing after him and overtaking him. Vegeta stopped and waited until Cell reached him, then kicked him in the lower back, sending him into the sky. He instantly passed Cell again, then came down from above and stomped on Cell's abdomen, driving him into the ground.

"That's incredible! His power is unbelievably strong, and his body has become so big too... He's no longer the Vegeta he used to be. Has Vegeta been reborn?" Krillin said in amazement after coming over to Ye Bai's side.

Cell crawled out from underground and lay on the ground, gasping for breath. Why? This guy couldn't possibly be my match. What happened? Why did Vegeta's power suddenly increase so much?

Vegeta landed on a distant hillside and looked down at Cell, who was sprawled on the ground gasping. Cell got to his feet, wondering how this could be, but he could not stop himself from shouting it aloud.

"No... impossible! I don't believe something this absurd could happen!"

Cell vanished from where he stood, then instantly burst out of the ground behind Vegeta. He threw a punch at the back of Vegeta's head, but Vegeta tilted his head to avoid it, seized Cell's arm, and forcefully threw him over his shoulder, hurling him into the mountain opposite.

Meanwhile, Gohan had just woken up in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. When he walked outside, he saw that icebergs had appeared beyond the resting area. Goku was bombarding an iceberg in front of him with Kamehameha.

The solid iceberg endured Goku's Kamehameha for a long time before finally shattering. The fierce cold wind froze Goku's lower body after he had held his stance for too long.

Chunks of ice from the iceberg buried Goku. Only after transforming into a Super Saiyan did he shatter the ice and walk out, turning to see Gohan approaching him.

"Gohan, you're awake?" Goku asked.

"D-Dad, I'm sorry! I actually fell asleep." Gohan lowered his head guiltily.

"Gohan, the gravity here is ten times normal. The temperature reaches fifty degrees during the day, then suddenly drops to minus forty at night. We have to train together for a whole year in a place with such huge temperature swings. It really is a little too hard on a child like you. If you want to rest, then rest!" Goku comforted him.

"B-but I've rested enough. Dad, please train me." Gohan raised his head to look at Goku, his eyes filled with determination.

"Dad, please train me! I want to become a strong Super Saiyan like you as soon as possible too." Gohan looked at Goku pleadingly.
